📝 SummaryRisk: Medium. Human attention should focus on three areas: the new invalid-comparison behavior for missing data, shared-layer reuse in worker measurements, and the v1/v2 protocol compatibility check in the workflow. The change enables shared-layer reuse and increments The supplied summary describes tests for comparison results and reports, worker behavior, and workflow protocol checks. It does not provide command output, so test results and the reported 64-case run are unverified here. Review severity counts are unavailable. Hosted-check status is also not established. Technical quality and merge readiness remain separate. The described changes target the stated coverage gap, but the evidence supplied does not confirm that checks pass or that a fresh or rebased PR completes successfully. WalkthroughThe performance gate advances to protocol v2 and enables shared-layer data reuse. Data misses and recorded skip reasons now produce blocking invalid comparisons. Selected cases remain in measurement rounds, and reports include data-miss failures. ChangesPerformance gate

- The frozen regression-gate contract defines
DATA_MISS/INVALIDas explicit outcomes;OK → DATA_MISS / INVALIDis blocking. This matches the PR’s move away from skipped comparisons.docs/design/prediction_regression_gate_design.md§2.2–2.4. [::ai-dynamo/aiconfigurator::] - Its static collector deliberately passes
shared_layer=Falseto ensure per-version data gaps are visible (tools/prediction_regression_gate/collect_static.py:102). The PR’sshared_layer=Trueworker behavior is therefore a distinct forward-performance policy and should remain scoped to that protocol/workflow. [::ai-dynamo/aiconfigurator::] - The reference comparator tests cover both

ai-dynamo/dynamo
- Dynamo has no direct references to the forward-performance protocol or its comparison statuses. Its boundary is dependency packaging: Python, container, Cargo, and lockfiles all require one exact AISimulate release (
tests/dependencies/test_aisimulate_consistency.py; currently0.12.0inpyproject.toml:17,Cargo.toml:60, andcontainer/deps/requirements.aisimulate.txt:5). [::ai-dynamo/dynamo::] - The
aic-forward-passfeature is backed byaisimulate-core, and Dynamo verifies the legacy AIC import namespace aliases the public AISimulate API (tests/dependencies/test_aiconfigurator_consistency.py:94-121). A protocol-v2 change therefore reaches Dynamo only through a compatible published AISimulate release and corresponding pin update. [::ai-dynamo/dynamo::]

Conditionally approve at commit 2776c9c. The coverage fix is correct; please preserve the new invalid-comparison reasons in CSV as described below. This is a small reporting issue, not a gate-correctness blocker.
Independent validation:
- 77 comparator/worker tests and 6 actual GEMM donor/provenance checks passed (83 total).
- 32 forward-performance workflow tests passed, including mixed/matching protocol behavior.
- Using the wheel downloaded from Full CI run 35812480258, whose head SHA matches this commit, ran the complete worker availability batch: 64/64 cases OK, protocol 2, zero errors. This is real coverage validation, not a five-round performance comparison or speedup claim.
- Traced shared-layer setup through the Rust data resolver; the existing donor tests verify declared 0.25 reuse for corrected 0.24 GEMM data and actual engine table values. Diff checks passed.
Minor condition: saved skips and DATA_MISS comparisons now carry invalid_reasons, but comparison.csv still exports only skip_reason and silently ignores the new field. Preserve those diagnostics in a serialized CSV column and cover that output. JSON/Markdown and failure classification already retain the correct information.
The protocol-v1/v2 transition intentionally skips this PR's hosted base/head benchmark. Keep the documented follow-through: after merge, verify a fresh/rebased PR completes all 128 comparisons; the green advisory check alone is not that evidence.

🎯 Functional Correctness | 🟡 Minor | ⚡ Quick winPreserve per-case invalid comparisons for prewarm misses.
When
compare.prewarm_disposition()returnsINVALID, the controller calls_finish()before it createsraw["cases"]entries. Reporting therefore records only a run error. It does not createINVALID_COMPARISONresults for the selected cases, so a reachable priming miss loses its per-case failure details.Initialize the case entries before prewarm failure handling, or otherwise add the affected cases as invalid comparison points before returning.

Summary
The forward-performance check could pass after losing coverage. Run 35796743524 skipped 20 of 128 comparisons because the worker disabled the shared-layer reuse needed for replacement FP8-block GEMM data from #244.
Enable shared-layer reuse and fail comparisons when either revision lacks data, including during priming. Preserve the 64-case matrix, timing thresholds, revision-local workers, and advisory workflow status. Missing-data errors stay visible in the summary. Remove the controller's case-skip path and reject saved skip records as invalid comparisons.
Bump the worker protocol to v2 because the data policy changes. The existing workflow explicitly skips mixed v1/v2 revisions; PRs must rebase onto this fix after it merges to resume valid comparisons.
Validation
2776c9cb6c9e198212db2ad646970de1ec3cb350, with identical dependencies, ran on CPU 20 using the existing controller: 64 cases / 128 comparisons / five paired rounds; zero regressions, invalid comparisons, skips, or run errors. All 12 worker processes completed. The run took 182.86 seconds; 17 comparisons were noisy under the unchanged thresholds. This is a same-revision coverage check, not a speedup claim.5493c06221c9043d00f852820d6c96a4c43c571d4eca957d742f76c4bac57cd9.
