Weird, it's working with the https link for me. Example:

Yeah, funny that. It seems to work sometimes. I've seen others use it too, but it didn't work for me that day. And in their FAQ it says

Concerning sensitive content: even if we do not store the generated diagrams, please be aware that all traffic goes through HTTP, so it's easy to catch.
