Autocomplete input stops updating when no matches are found

When using the Autocomplete component, if you enter a search term that yields zero results, the input freezes and stops receiving updates. The only way to reset the input is to use the clear button.

The input should continue to allow the search term to be adjusted, even when there are no results found.

The input value stops updating unless you use the clear button to reset it.

I experience something similar.
Autocomplete + Menu and a collection from useAsyncList. I experience random (at least I couldn't find a pattern behind it) freezes. Means the cursor is still blinking on the input, but I can neither type in the input nor use the arrow keys to navigate the menu. Sometimes clicking inside the input resolves the issues, sometimes not.
No console errors or other indicators that something went wrong.
