Like VS Code's quick open, a leading `>` in the file picker hands the query to the command palette's actions-only search, and deleting the `>` returns to file search with the remaining text. Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 5.5 (1M context) <noreply@anthropic.com>

The file picker (
mod+p) and the command palette (mod+k) were separate surfaces. In VS Code and Cursor, typing>in go-to-file turns it into the command palette, and that muscle memory didn't work here.Typing
>at the start of the file picker's search now switches the overlay to the command palette's existing actions-only search, keeping the query. If you got there from the file picker, deleting the>takes you back to file search with whatever text is left. If you opened the palette withmod+k, nothing changes: deleting>still returns to the mixed commands/projects/threads search.OpenFileSearchreducer action, plus afromFilePickerflag onOpenSearch, moves the query between the two modes, so they still can't both be open at once.docs/user/keybindings.md, and an entry indocs/fork-differences.md.Surfaces: web and desktop share this component. Mobile has no file picker, so it doesn't apply there. Nothing changes in providers or contracts.
