Welcome to the Worlds History Simulator wiki! Here we have information on different gameplay mechanics and map tools to help you get started. This is an open wiki so feel free to add pages and make changes to make the wiki better. If you do not know how to make or edit a page, feel free to ask in our Discord and someone there can help you. Please make all changes with proper grammar, complete sentences and accurate information, we'd really appreciate it!
You can download the game from the itch.io page or play the latest development build by compiling by source using the latest Unity version. The latest development builds have been tested to not work on Linux (Ubuntu 19.04) or Android (Using OneUI 1.1 on Android 9), although it is unknown if it'll work on macOS or iOS if compiled for them or Linux when using Wine. There will be a guide here on the wiki soon™, but currently there's one on the official site.
These are questions posted on the Itch Page Feel free to ask your own on the Open FAQ (You need an itch.io account to post) or on our Discord.
1. Is the game going to be available for Mac/Linux?
It will be, at some point. But for now I'm waiting to reach the first Patreon goal to finance a good Mac development environment.
2. Is the game going to be available for Android/iOS?
Not in the foreseeable future. I'm open to exploring that option but the game is too resource intensive to consider it at the moment.
3. Are there going to be wars in the game?
Yes, the entire focus of the next few releases (0.3.4 onward) is on the gradual introduction of war mechanics along with other things. You can take a peck at the roadmap toward 0.4 here.
4. What about more advanced forms of government like empires or democracies, what about religions?
These will be introduced slowly after version 0.4. There's still too many basic features that need to be added to the game framework in order to support more complex forms of governments or any kind of religion.
5. What is the release date for version 0.x?
There are no release dates for any of the upcoming releases. It's hard to predict how much effort is going to go on each one. Just take into account that each public release takes around 4-6 months to complete.
