@feilb The "hackish" way of fixing this is by distinguishing between entering insert mode vs typing in insert mode. |

I have no idea why this works. I tried this fix as a bit of a hunch, and it seems to work fine.
@rebornix I would really appreciate if you had any idea what was going on here.
EDIT: As in, I don't know what is causing this, and I'd be really grateful if you could look into it.
