Description

Control the IWO-538 robot arm using a Raspberry Pi

Included files:

  • robot-arm.py
  • robot-arm-mcp.py
  • Adafruit_I2C.py : Adafruit's I2C Python Library to control the MCP23017 / MCP23008

File description:

  • robot-arm.py:

    • Control the OWI-538 with it's DC motors using the GPIO pins directly from the Raspberry Pi.
  • robot-arm-mcp.py

    • Control the OWI-538 DC motors using a MCP 23017 IO Extender and control the L292 for the DC's.

List of packages availables to install and configure:

  • Adafruits I2C Python Library: Adafruit_I2C.py

  • MCP23017 - 1x
  • L293D - 3x
  • LED - 2x
  • T-Cobler - 1x
  • 220ohm RS - 2x
  • Breadboard wires
  • OWI-538 - 1x
