Description
Very coarse and likely to change roadmap:
- Define draft spec. <-- We are here
- Refine into proper spec.
- Develop simple python library.
- Develop simple standalone tooling using the library to manually create and inspect the files
- Implement in a few existing Python applications internally, without making PRs.
- If no new concerns arise, do the same steps for other popular languages/tools.
- Once everything is working and the spec seems good enough, send PRs to all applications at once.
- Maybe somewhere along the way see if we can get the support of other interested parties.
