They were massively out of date, and highly unlikely to be ever updated as frequently as those at scitools-docs (https://scitools-docs.github.io/iris/master/). Irnonically, https://scitools-docs.github.io/iris/master/ are not currently working: SciTools/iris#2958 relates.
