Is it possible to use a camera that is already in HomeKit/ HomeKit compatible? #86
Comments
Ping. I would also highly appreciate this feature. Is it a big deal to add a configuration option that redirects the video control content to that of the HKSV of the Circle View? Or is there any other homebridge plugin that can do this? Just a doorbell`switch that connects to a (non-doorbell) HKSV camera? I did not find any. |
What you could do is activate the rtsp stream of your cam and use this url with the doorbell plugin. |
As said, the Logitech Circle View Cam is a pure HKSV camera which does not provide a RTSP stream.
So you say it is technically impossible to include the HKSV stream in a video doorbell (instead of the RTSP one) or kind of „augment“ the camera accessory instance to provide an additional switch to trigger the notification and chime?
The reason I am asking is I am looking for a quick way to activate and view the live stream straight through the press of the iOS bell notification every time it pops up. Currently in this moment I am presented a dummy RTSP stream and would have to switch to the Circle View camera which takes a short additional time to be activated once selected. This is no useful workflow, especially for my parents.

Adding doorbell support to a native HKSV cam does not work as the cam is already defined as a cam and not a videodoorbell.

I have eufy cameras that are already in HomeKit and support HKSV. They look at both doors where I want doorbells. Is it possible to somehow integrate them for the video/snapshot portion? Thanks!
