Is your feature request related to a problem? Please describe.
We work in an instance containing 800+ people and a lot of different teams.
There also are a lot of technical channels where we for example push our checkMK or Sentry messages into.
After a short time the channel list in the sidebar naturally gets bigger and bigger.
Additionally to the existing channel types (Public, Private, Discussion, Direct and to some extend Unread) we try to structure our channels by using a strict naming convention á la
[Company] [teamName] - [ChannelName] so for example DT Developer - Coding
This helps a little bit but with the ever growing amount of channels and obviously people breaking the naming convention this only is a suboptimal solution.
Describe the solution you'd like
Now that the teams feature is getting released the possibility of grouping by team is so close that something like this could be implemented:
I feel like this feature would help a lot of people tremendously in organizing their sidebar.
Also it would allow us to create "technical teams" to group all our logging channels etc. That would be awesome.
Describe alternatives you've considered
Obviously there are a lot of ways to group channels but I get that most of them are pretty complex in comparison to the suggestion above.
