Incoming call notification with ringtone #510
Comments
My coworkers also need this: +1 from us :) |
+1 I often miss calls, even when I am at my computer. Really need it to ring. |
That would be awesome :). We looking forward this feature |
I need it too |
+1 million! |
Here's two annoying ring sounds I've made unique for Rocket.Chat, you're welcome to use them. |
this must be the number one most obviously missing feature by a thousand miles. |
+1 :) |
Already commented on RocketChat/Rocket.Chat#17124 This feature is not now just a missing feature, but a critical one in pandemic times, to work from home. I wonder why RC devs doesn't push for it... |
i agree with @adocampo Even just a sound alert for a call made life much easier.. |
+1 |
Do you have any progress on this? |
sorry for the flood, but I think this is a very important feature |
any news? this is still a huge problem |
Years are passing, but necessary feature is not implemented yet... |
Any update guys? We can't leave skype because our team don't have a huge notification like a "skype incoming call"... |
rocketchat is abandonware

Hi, someone just notified us about this.
I assure you we're not ;) But I can see why you'd think that. It's 1:30 AM at my end, so I can't go into much details or do anything about it right now but thought I should at least leave a reply. I will go through this tomorrow, see internally what's going on and leave an update here. In the meantime, feel free to mention me (at)debdutdeb if you find any issues that need attention. There are so many issues, although I'm trying to go through many of them each day, it's not possible for me to know all at once. I was nowhere near here when this issue was created, so you get why I couldn't have known. The community team is here to understand these, fix these now. So reach out, anytime you feel the need to do so. My DM is also open. Thanks :) |
Hi @debdutdeb , thanks for your reply. I saw the RocketChat/Rocket.Chat#13595 we hope that this subject will be taken up again soon. |
Notice this comment - RocketChat/Rocket.Chat#13595 (comment) That pr will not be merged but potentially closed soon. This will be considered as a fresh new feature request. Give me some time to bring this up :) |
@debdutdeb nice to see this! Thanks! :) |
@debdutdeb This is also related to calls (via Twilio) and would do a lot to enhance remote/virtual office work. The feature request was submitted in 2017 kept getting deferred to future releases... |
@debdutdeb hello! Any news? Have you succeeded or are you managing to prioritize this demand? Thanks! |
Imagine a feature this important and yet not very difficult to pull off going ignored for 5 years. Rocketchat is abandonware. |
Unfortunately, we were forced to move to teams for the lack of this feature.

Implemented? How? Which version when someone calls another one, a sound like a ring notifies the counterpart? |
I believe this is locked behind the enterprise edition. I do receive ring notifications on our enterprise self-hosted instance. |
Ah this would explain it. We also run an enterprise self-hosted instance. |
Hello, Everyone. We are implementing some improvements to the mobile ringing feature. It should be out in the 6.4 release or so. Right now, we are working on some backend items that will enable it. |
Feature implemented. |
Hi, I love this feature however I only rings when the application is opened. Would it be interesting to also ring when the phone (for iOS/android apps) is not in use, like a normal call ? At least add an option to enable such behavior ? I use RocketChat with my family, so to hear the ringtone only when the app is in use is quite limited I think. I would be interested to contribute if such feature looks interesting among the community :). |
Calling is awesome feature of Rocket.Chat that made us switch to it. Unfortunately right now nobody knows if someone calls them, because there is no notification or sound. You have to keep Rocket.Chat open & visible all the time to notice the sweetalert confirm.
Can dialing sound & notification be added?
