Bridge request

General information

  • Host URI for the bridge : https://gettr.com/user/***

  • Which information would you like to see?
    one RSS feed entry for each post entry

  • How should the information be displayed/formatted?
    the RSS feed should be readable in the Browser (not showing its source code in the browser)

  • Which of the following parameters do you expect?

    • Title: if link preview available in GETTR user's post, take title from linked webpage.
    • URI (link to the original article): the permament URL to the post, after clicking on "time posted"
    • Author: username displayed on GETTR profile
    • Timestamp: converting "9 minutes ago" to an absolute time formatting
    • Content (the content of the article): the GETTR post entry as HTML, or better, extend the shortened links
    • Enclosures (pictures, videos, etc...): if link preview contains a thumbnail, or: if image or <10mb video clip uploaded by user
    • Categories (categories, tags, etc...): retrieved from hashtags used by GETTR user

Options

  • Limit number of returned items
    • Default limit: 5
  • Load full articles
    • Cache articles (articles are stored in a local cache on first request): yes
    • Cache timeout (max = 24 hours): 24 hours
  • Balance requests (RSS-Bridge uses cached versions to reduce bandwith usage)
    • Timeout (default = 5 minutes, max = 24 hours): 10 minutes

Content on Gettr is mostly right-wing. Journalists reported extreme content on the platform was prevalent, including racism, antisemitism, and terrorist propaganda. Politico observed the white supremacist Proud Boys organization was being promoted on the platform. Conservative users who have used Gettr include Sean Hannity, Kevin McCarthy, Mike Pompeo, Ben Carson, and Elise Stefanik.

Thats a 'pass' from me.
