This is original and unmodified XOS 4.5.1. You can either use the installer or write the memstick image directly to the usb drive.

  • Bugs were fixed in the installer that prevented memory drives larger than 8gb from working
  • The installer has been tested to work in Windows 11 as long as XP Compatibility mode is on
  • The OS has been tested to work on an IBM Thinkpad T42 (2004 model)
  • The OS has been tested to work on an Acer laptop (2009 model), but all but the first couple of lines had to be deleted from the startup file (file /xossys/cfg/startup.bat)
  • The OS has been tested to be broken on a Dell Latitude E6540 laptop (2013 model) and it is not believed that newer laptops will work
