Older versions of gfortran (GCC < 8) used int instead of size_t for the hidden string length arguments appended for the char arguments in mixed-language programming, some other compilers may still do, while most use size_t (which has been the default since Reference-LAPACK exposed the hidden arguments in the LAPACKE API in 3.10.0)
