Summary (OMN-18426)

  • Adds a strip-ai-coauthor-trailer commit-msg hook to .pre-commit-config.yaml
  • The hook uses perl to strip Co-Authored-By lines matching Claude/Anthropic noreply addresses from commit messages
  • Ensures all team members automatically strip AI attribution trailers via shared pre-commit config

Details

The hook runs at the commit-msg stage and strips lines matching the Anthropic noreply pattern. This is a shared enforcement of the same rule currently in personal global git hooks, making it permanent across the team.

Test plan

  • Hook added to .pre-commit-config.yaml
  • Verify pre-commit install --hook-type commit-msg picks up the new hook
  • Commit with a Co-Authored-By Claude trailer and verify it gets stripped

Post-merge closeout for OMN-18426.

What landed. Adds the strip-ai-coauthor-trailer hook on the commit-msg stage to this repository's .pre-commit-config.yaml.

Review. No review bodies or inline review comments were present on this pull request, so there is nothing outstanding to answer here.

One limit, recorded rather than left implicit. The entry this rollout shipped matches a single vendor address. The maintained machine-identity list now carries four — noreply@anthropic.com, claude@omninode.ai, cursoragent@cursor.com, codex@omninode.ai — and the branch-side gate reads that list directly, but the hooks in this repository and thirteen others have not been re-keyed to it. The shape of that re-key is the open question on the ticket, so nothing has been changed here on one lane's own reading.

Thank you.
