- Plan for Mender update and Jetpack 5.1
- Considering splitting into two paths, one extlinux based update which doesn’t support bootloader update yet and a second which uses two stages to completely tegraflash each, which will only be supported on the next Jetpack release when NVIDIA releases support for A/B bootloader update.
- The extlinux based update method would work with L4T launcher, would not work if we use a different startup mechanism for UEFI later.
- OP-TEE needs customization from the current Jetpack 5.1 release to ship a product which is going to use it. Same with UEFI.
- Don’t do signature verification of kernel in Jetpack 5.1 currently. Not sure if they will ultimately use stock UEFI or shoehorn in their hardware key. Would want better answers about this before productizing
- Initrd flashing support
- Discussed whether and where to merge this, ultimately decided to go ahead with merge for both kirkstone and dunfell.
- Support for handling compatibility specs for bootloader updates for 32.7
- Relates to an update to tegra-boot-tools at https://github.com/OE4T/tegra-boot-tools/pull/25
- Have a draft PR for 32.7 at https://github.com/OE4T/meta-tegra/pull/1135
- Reduces the size of the update payloads.
- Need a comparison between Nvidia L4T bootloader update script and the scripts for tegra-boot-tools and in the draft PR above.
- Matt will put some detail in the gitter channel about review help.
