FYI, elisp packages on GNU ELPA, Non-GNU ELPA and MELPA will be automatically included in Nixpkgs. Could you ask upstream if they are willing to publish this package to one of those ELPAs? If they are, then this package will be added to Nipxkgs in the next elisp bump. Otherwise, we can merge this PR to manually add this package to Nixpkgs.

This is a soft blocker.
