Just to keep track of things, PR #1619 proposes an update from 1.5.2 to 1.5.3 and wasn't merged because of

I have no idea whether 1.7.0 still has this problem, but I guess at least #1619 can be closed now.

Yes, 1.7.0 also has this problem.
