My impression is that we can simply wait until staging next hits master and unstable again? See NixOS/nixpkgs#225220 https://nixpk.gs/pr-tracker.html?pr=225220 Seems the changes were reverted as it broke a lot of numerical stuff. |

OK, let's wait. I leave this open meanwhile as WIP. EDIT: that seems to solve the problem. I could build cp2k again with nixpkgs-staging. |

The latest nixpkgs staging merge broke a few packages:
A common error is: "cannot find -lstdc++", when invoking the gfortran (note: look for changes in gfortran/compiler wrappers).
