Linear: AIRCORE-1120

Why

Customers will ask NeMo Platform to help them build an agent. This gives them one supported path using LangChain Deep Agents through Fabric. This is an update to the existing build agent skill which relied on NAT. The goal here is to guide the user through building an agent, if they don't have one already. It's not intended to add official agent building support to NeMo Platform. It's more like a reference example.

The skill starts off by building a plain language Ethos, waits for approval, builds the smallest supported agent shape, tests it and then registers it with NeMo Platform. It explains NeMo terms as it goes so customers do not need prior knowledge of Fabric, MCP or Ethos.

What changed

  • Added a Fabric based build agent workflow with no NAT fallback.
  • Added clear approval points before implementation, installation and remote changes.
  • Added checks that reuse an installed Agents plugin and Deep Agents harness.
  • Added safe behavior when the plugin is missing, installation is declined or the installation is incomplete.
  • Added happy path and failure path evaluations.
  • Added packaging, testing and signoff guidance.

What I tested

  • Focused skill content tests: 14 passed.
  • The current NeMo Platform source wheel packaged successfully through the documented Fabric path.
  • The packaged agent called build.nvidia.com successfully.
  • The model called the calculator MCP tool with 12 and 8.
  • The tool returned 96 and the agent returned the same answer.
  • The ATOF trace recorded the model call, tool call and final response.

The behavioral evaluation cases remain in source for a future formal skill evaluation. They are not included in the customer runtime package.

Summary by CodeRabbit

  • New Features

    • Added a beta workflow for building LangChain Deep Agents through Fabric.
    • Added artifact selection, MCP-based custom tools, packaging, deployment verification, telemetry checks, and evaluator execution.
    • Added approval, credential, compatibility, and capability checks with evidence-based stop conditions.
    • Added deferred registration after pre-registration gates pass, with workspace and environment verification.
  • Documentation

    • Added guidance for Fabric configuration, packaging, deployment, testing, and sign-off.
  • Changes

    • Removed legacy NAT, synthetic-data, benchmark, guardrail, and previous agent-template workflows.

Merge Risk: 🔵 Low · up to d28cd

This change introduces the Fabric Deep Agents build workflow with gated packaging and deployment guidance. The no-environment deployment path is addressed, but several documentation usability gaps and one missing regression assertion for workspace-qualified environments remain; these are low-risk follow-ups rather than blockers.

* fix(files): block fileset delete when models or adapters still reference it (#1761)

* fix(files): block fileset delete when models or adapters still reference it

A fileset used as model or adapter weights could be deleted with no check, leaving a dangling entity and a late 404 during job download. Fail closed with 409 when dependents exist, 503 when Entity Store cannot be queried, and validate the weights fileset at customization submit.

* fix(files): sanitize fileset delete-guard logs and document 409/503 detail

CodeQL flagged unsanitized workspace/name on the new 503 path. Document the FastAPI string-detail envelope on DELETE so OpenAPI matches the actual 409 and 503 bodies.

EntityClient.list raises NemoClientError, not EntityStoreError, so the documented 503 path never fired on a real Entities outage. Workspace cleanup now removes adapters and models before filesets so same-workspace teardown is not blocked by the 409 guard.
