Add GRACE-FO (satellite IDs 803 and 804) to global_convinfo.txt. This change is required with GSI PR 825.

Resolves #27

The modified global_convinfo.txt in this PR places gpsro data from these two satellite identifiers in assimilate mode (1 usage flag).

May we safely assimilate gpsro data from both identifiers as soon as it appears in the GDA?

We run retrospective parallels over these periods. Attention @CatherineThomas-NOAA

@RussTreadon-NOAA I think it should be safe for us to assimilate 803 and 804, the data quality looks good. Lidia and I reached out to DWD and DMI, and they confirmed that the GRACE-FO data is processed by GFZ.

Previously, no special QC was applied to GFZ data (such as TerraSAR-X 42 and TanDEM-X 43) in GSI. With the new code change (GSI PR#825), a QFRO quality flag will be applied to them.

Thank you @XuanliLi-NOAA for confirming that these data types are safe to assimilate as soon as they appear in GDA.

@XuanliLi-NOAA : A few questions

  • What is the status of this PR?
  • May this PR be merged into GSI-fix develop or are we waiting for something?
  • When do we anticipate assimilating this data in operations?

@RussTreadon-NOAA: I think this is ready to be merged. The GRACE-FO data can be assimilated into operations with the changes in GSI PR #825, which has already been merged.
