These compose in layers. Data-cleaning runs FIRST (clean substrate); git-native backfill runs ON TOP (fill the dependency hierarchy); observability runs ABOVE (visualize the cleaned + backfilled state); archaeology runs CROSS-CUTTING (recover the why for any layer).
