Can you describe your bug in a little more detail, and steps to reproduce? I believe this is the first i'm hearing of it |

If you put up your lfg flag thru the party menu. Get invited to a party and then change zones. |

I have had this happen one time but never again, very early into testing my
local server.
I had never seen it recur, so I wasn't able to capture any information
about it.
The seeking flag did seem to persist after joining a party and might have
persisted between logins but I don't entirely recall tbh, apologies.

I've had similar bugs with the original darkstar, topaz and topaznext
servers. So I think it's been around for a while. Kind of interesting no
one's else has really discussed it

This happens a lot on a certain private server I used to play on. It seems
to be a visual bug as the person with the party flag showing is completely
in party and suffers no loss besides everyone telling them their party flag
is still up. I nor other players have ever figured out how to clear it
ourselves while in game.

LSB has re-written a lot of the party code and how chars update so any bug report that's older than a recent version of LSB unfortunately won't be too helpful. Just reading over some of the comments it's a little confusing if the bug is still happening on current LSB. |

I could have been more clear on the timeframe, apologies.
Current as of HEAD, unsure.
I experienced this around late November/early December of 2024.

Apologies, but this is January 2025. If you can provide clear repro steps, please open an issue, but anecdotes and previous history with a project that has merged 134 PRs in the past 30 days isn't helpful. We have a checkbox on all issues for "This occurs on current base." I get it, its a moving target, but the longer anyone waits for raising a bug if applicable, the more difficult (especially with minimal information) it is to track down. |

Totally fair callout - I've reproduced it, but not quite how I expected to. This is running on commit 75b085b I logged in on two different computers, but only one has captain installed. Stabby is my character, where the captain.log comes from, and the one being invited into the party each time. I started off by doing basics, like having Stabby put up seek, and Alchiba invite through both /sea and by clicking the button when you target someone with their flag up, and doing that over and over just to try to induce it. That didn't do it. I recalled that when it happened, I was zoning into Ronfaure, and Alchiba was still in Sandoria. So I tried queueing up an invite with my flag up, zoning, and then re-inviting after the first invite was lost, but still nothing. I tried a few more times rapidly seeking and then reinviting / disbanding to see if being in different zones alone might do it. Still nothing. So I started to run Alchiba out of Sandoria and into Ronfaura, where Stabby already was. And then this happened. I had Alchiba target "Ghost" Stabby, and invite through the menu. That resulted in this: Alchiba in a party with "Real" Stabby, "Ghost" Stabby still with his flag up. I then zoned "Real" Stabby into Sandoria, and this happened: "Ghost" Stabby dead, "Real" Stabby with a seek flag back on him. It's fair to say that afaik, I did not experience the "Ghost" issue before, so this could be a slightly different bug that manifests with a similar side effect. Here is a gist with the full captain.log TL;DR;

I have confirmed the bug, I have a suspicion on what the bug is but too tired after work to try to fix it tonight. I have to do a good bit of caps from retail to make sure it is what it think it is. |

So Ive been trying to fix the seeking flag bug for a bit now and I havent seen to make any progress.
Ive tried forcing the invite flag to false in a bunch of spots to stop it from showing up when a party member travels from zone to zone. Tried the party creation cpp file. The packets file under party creation, loading of zones. Various lua files that deal with zoning or party setup. Nothing seems to work and Im at a complete loss.
The party.cpp addmember section and the packets.cpp (back traced the log to see which packet functions were being sent over during party creation process) should have worked but maybe its being overwritten somewhere else, or im not really actually changing the character flags.
Did a project wide search in VS to check if there were any spots that could overwrite the flag, and there is only 1? 2? spots where the party flag is toggled?
