A simple Python CLI application to allow entry, and display, of quotes stored in a local database.
This CLI app allows users to add their quotes to a database and either retrieve all entries to display or have the app return a random quote.
The following packages are required:
- click==8.1.3
- typer==0.7.0
Clone this repository to your local machine:
git clone https://github.com/ichbinjade/cli-quote-prompt
You can then install the dependencies using the requirements.txt file.
~/cli-quote-prompt$ python quotecli.py add "Author"
Enter the quote:
python quotecli.py display-all
python quotecli.py display-random
Usage: quotecli.py [OPTIONS] COMMAND [ARGS]...
Options:
--install-completion [bash|zsh|fish|powershell|pwsh]
Install completion for the specified shell.
--show-completion [bash|zsh|fish|powershell|pwsh]
Show completion for the specified shell, to
copy it or customize the installation.
--help Show this message and exit.
Commands:
add Add a new quote by AUTHOR.
display-all Display all quotes currently in the database
display-random Display a random quote from the database
