GOTIT for “Gene Occurrence and Taxa in Integrative Taxonomy” is a flexible and expandable laboratory information management system (LIMS) for the joint management of morphology-based and DNA-based species occurrence data. It is particularly suitable for biodiversity projects that employ an integrative taxonomic approach combining morphology-based and DNA-based species delimitation methods to explain species distribution patterns.
As experienced by the designers of the GOTIT project, the tool enhances productivity at various steps of a laboratory's workflow, including research project design, sampling implementation and gap analyzing, species identification, DNA sequencing, information sharing, and contributing data to global biodiversity facilities.
GOTIT project is evolving: see the main upcoming developments in the ROADMAP
GOTIT project was initially submitted for publication as version 1.1.0 on March 2019: see the project history in section RELEASES
