After some feedback from @jcfranco I made a pivot to move the user-provided label(public prop) to the wrapping <div> element, which now announces context-specific information, when provided. Eg "Desired Appointment" (for non-range mode) or "Request Vacation" (for range mode).

For the individual inputs, the labels now announce "Date" in non-range mode and "Start Date" or "End Date" in the range mode. These are no longer public props but are customizable through messageOverrides. The placeholder remains unchanged, providing the date format "MM/DD/YYYY" and is not customizable.
