Robot Settings
As of version 3, it is possible to configure robot settings from within HS4. The various settings supported by robots vary depending on the model of the robot, so the plugin attempts to auto-detect which settings are applicable to your robot and displays only the relevant settings. However, auto-detection isn't perfect and you may see some settings in the HS4 UI that don't apply to your robot.
The settings currently supported by the plugin are:
- On-dock light ring pattern
- Child lock
- Bin full behavior
- Cleaning passes
- (Braava jet m6) Jet spray amount
- (Braava jet m6) Wet mopping behavior
- Clean base auto-empty (see below)
If your robot supports some settings in the iRobot Home mobile app that aren't shown in the latest version of the HS4 plugin, please go to the Manage Robots page, send a debug report, then create a new topic in the HomeSeer support forum and include your report ID.
You can change your robot's settings in two ways: on the device's iRobot configuration page, or using HS4 events.
To access a device's configuration page, click or tap on the robot's name in HS4, then select the iRobot tab.
The plugin must currently be connected to the robot in order to change a setting. When a setting is changed, the robot will beep.
On robots that support the clean base (i, j, and s series), it is possible to disable the clean base's auto-empty feature in the robot, although there is no way to configure this from the official iRobot app. As of version 5, you can configure this from the robot's device page in HS4 on the iRobot tab, or by using HS4 events.
If disabled, the robot will not automatically empty itself on the clean base at the end of a job. Presumably, the robot will also not attempt to empty itself in the middle of a job if it becomes full, at which point your "Bin full behavior" setting would take effect, although this has not been confirmed. Additionally, the "Empty Bin" button will not be available in the official iRobot mobile app when the robot is on its base, although the "Empty Bin" button within HS4 will remain functional, and also it remains possible to press the physical home button on the robot while it's docked to initiate bin emptying.
You will not hear a beep from the robot when changing this setting, as you would when changing any other setting.
