How to reproduce

1. Boot Ubuntu 24 or DTS.
2. Use: flashrom -p internal -c "Opaque flash chip" -w /home/ubuntu/test-firmware_resigned.rom -N --fmap -i RW_SECTION_A -i RW_SECTION_B' to cause recovery mode.
3. Reboot, observe FW recovery pop-up.
4. Boot OS from step 1. again.
5. Use: flashrom -p internal -c "Opaque flash chip" -w /home/ubuntu/test-firmware.rom -N --fmap -i RW_SECTION_A -i RW_SECTION_B' to write properly signed image.
6. Reboot. Count time (> 5 minutes).
7. Turn of platform with power button to regain control.
8. Observe no recovery pop-up after power on.

Expected behavior

Effective reboot after second flash write.

Actual behavior

Freeze longer than 5 minutes.

I couldn't manage to reproduce this manually, I've tried multiple times. This might be an OSFV issue instead, if the automated tests were failing on this platform.

I've been performing the test on two laptops, A V560TND and a V560TNE.
On 4 manual tries and multiple automated ones I haven't encountered the problems described in this issue, apart from a couple unrelated issues.
The main culprit of problems with VBO tests I've encountered were the unstable serial connection via an FTDI converter, with which using #988 helps a lot, and the issue with Dasharo Firmware described here Dasharo/dasharo-issues#1539, which resulted in the tests not being able to enter the boot manager menu. This required a manual intervention a couple times.
Never did any of the two laptops freeze.

Here 's a log file from a complete run on a V560TND:

The run needed a workaround for the battery-missing popup in the VBO test as it has been breaking it completely. It's implemented on #1055

I've been struggling to get a full one due to the test taking a lot of time and interventing manually to workaround the firmware issue required being very cautious to not allow the tests to fail due to a timeout.
There were no issues on V560TNE, but I don't have a log of a full uninterrupted run to support this...
