Brief summary

After flashing properly-signed firmware on recovery boot, reboot command puts device in freeze state. Pushing power button in several seconds turns it off, then it may be powered on again.

How to reproduce

  1. Boot Ubuntu 24 or DTS.
  2. Use: flashrom -p internal -c "Opaque flash chip" -w /home/ubuntu/test-firmware_resigned.rom -N --fmap -i RW_SECTION_A -i RW_SECTION_B' to cause recovery mode.
  3. Reboot, observe FW recovery pop-up.
  4. Boot OS from step 1. again.
  5. Use: flashrom -p internal -c "Opaque flash chip" -w /home/ubuntu/test-firmware.rom -N --fmap -i RW_SECTION_A -i RW_SECTION_B' to write properly signed image.
  6. Reboot. Count time (> 5 minutes).
  7. Turn of platform with power button to regain control.
  8. Observe no recovery pop-up after power on.

Expected behavior

Effective reboot after second flash write.

Actual behavior

Freeze longer than 5 minutes.
