Superseded

This clean successor was opened when #139 appeared stale after protected main advanced. Before this branch could become the canonical replacement, another source writer refreshed #139 itself onto current protected main f4cae6d83eadb00019d2962a650c55c59a3349ae; fresh compare evidence shows #139 is now behind_by: 0 and contains the same four-file calendar slice.

Keeping two equivalent writer lanes would duplicate checks/reviews and violate the single-writer queue discipline, so this PR is closed without merge. Continue the capability on #139.

Refs #129, #139 and #21.
