This is a list of devices which have been successfully used to build BELABOX-based streaming setups. Note that this is not a curated list and an entry here doesn't guarantee that a product will necessarily be suitable for your needs.
Don't add any devices which require additional drivers to be installed or manual configuration on the Jetson board
Power bank | Notes | Tested by |
---|---|---|
Anker PowerCore Metro Essential 20000 PD | Outputs 5V 3A | Marlow |
Anker Portable Charger 26800mAh | Note by BVK2 7/13/22: Both ports charge at 5V/3A. 3 USB-A output ports. | ANHstradamus & BVK2 |
Anker PowerCore+ 26800 PD 45W | Max output 2.4A per USB-A port, max total output 3A | Marlow & BVK2 |
Ansmann 24 (Model 1700-0112) | On the QC3.0 port - Outputs 5V 3A | Marlow |
Baseus 65W 30,000 mAh USB-C PD | Can power Belabox 2GB + USB Type-C 4-Port USB hub and 4 connections, lasts roughly 14 hours (Using RTMP Pipeline, No CamLink). "2GB, 2 wifi, eth0, CamLink + x3000 and around 7.5 hours max tested by MeatSnack" | PeloTom_ / b3ck / MeatSnack |
Baseus Blade 100W (non-HD version) | 2x type-C (100w) and 2x type A (30W) with "time remaining display" and flat design. Renegotiates all ports on I/O change. Supports passthrough charging. Only tested with OP5+ (5v 1.4A) with 2x Android phones and wifi for around 8 hours. | TobbyTravel |
Krisdonia NJF-5X 50000mAh Laptop Power Bank | 5/9/12/16/19/20V. Max output 5V/3A per port, all ports can be used. Outputs: USB-C, 2x USB-A, DC-out - Input: DC-in. | BVK2 / The Crane Couple |
Krisdonia NJF-2 25000mAh 92.5Wh | Max output 5V/3A per port, all ports can be used, 2 x USB-A, 1x USB-C, 1x DC, also supports other voltages like 8.4V, 9V, 12V and more | Marlow |
Miady 30W PD Portable Charger 26800mAh | Discontinued | rationalirl |
Mophie 3XL | Available refurbished for around £30 in the UK. Update 2 years later: the 5V output is low under load compared to other power banks you can get now. Great for higher voltage PD setups like BELABOX BEE because the type-A port can be used at a same time and they don't cut each other out. But not recommended for 5V devkit setups | rationalirl |
RAVpower PD Pioneer 26800mAh Portable Charger (RP-PB058) | 30W Power Delivery. RAVpower was delisted from Amazon, but you may find them under other labels. While unverified the following brands appear to be rebrands of RavPower: iSmart, HenHot, evatronic, Alfox. | monkeybananas |
RAVPower 26800 PD Portable Charger 26800mAh 30W USB C Power Bank | 30W Power Delivery, No longer sold on Amazon | specialprograms |
Riapow Powerbank 26800 mAh | 3.0 A USB C Fast Charging Portable Charger with LED Display, Mobile Phone Charger, 4 Outputs. Powers Belebox and NETGEAR 5G Router without issues | sir-electric |
TOPK 20000mAh 20W PD QC3.0 | Specced for 5V 3A output on all ports, tested both USB-A and USB-C. A similar non-PD/QC battery exists with 2A output limit, make sure you don't buy that one. This is pretty much the best power bank you can buy for powering a 5V Jetson. | rationalirl |
Insignia 80W 26,800 mAh (Model NS-PWLB80R) | Replaisment | |
Iniu 22.5w 20,000 mAh | Model BI-B5 as tested - Fast Charging - Output: USB-C 5v/3a - USB-A 5v/4.5a over 2 ports. Works best on USB-C. rational: good 5V output over USB-C, comparable to the TOPK | TicanUK, rationalirl |
Charmast 26800mAh 20W PD Power Bank | I've been using 2 of them for a bit, 1 for the Belabox bee and 1 for everything else. Only issue I find, maybe it's a common thing is that if you are using the USB-C PD socket you can't use the others. Power just cuts out. So hence using 2 of them. Would consider changing to a single power bank | KeiraKATANA |
ZMI PowerPack No. 20 25000mAh 210W | If you need a UPS powerbank so you can charge without losing power to the belabox here's one of the few options. I searched a long time for this and it's able to power my Rock 5A with 2 phones attached, an Osmo action 4, and a DJI Mic 2 receiver while barely getting warm. If you run low and are near an outlet or in a car plug it in and the stream will keep running while it charges. | BoostedBen |
UGREEN Nexode 140W 25000mAh (ASIN B0BJQ7F16T) | 2xUSB-C + 1 USB-A (used with OPI5+) | VictorJaunts |
Anker Prime 27650mAh Power Bank (250W) | 2x USB-C + 1x USB-A. USB-A port renegotiates if anything is plugged into the USB-C ports. | michaely123 |
Power cable | Connector types | Notes | Tested by |
---|---|---|---|
Anker USB C Cable, PowerLine+ USB-C to USB 3.0 cable 3FT | USB-A to USB-C | Used with Jetson Nano 2GB | BVK2 |
GoPro Genuine cable | USB-A to USB-C | About 55 cm long. Ships with GoPro cameras and battery chargers, but it doesn't seem to be sold officially on its own. Solid choice for powering a 2GB Jetson Nano from an USB-A port. Update: newer GoPro products may be shipping with different, thinner gauge cables which are unsuitable for powering a Jetson Nano. The good model has a blue plastic insert in the connector, the bad one has a white one. | rationalirl |
iSOUL Micro USB Cable 15cm | USB-A to micro USB | For Jetson Nano 4GB. Lowest voltage drop from the micro USB cables I've tested | rationalirl |
iSOUL USB C Cable [15cm] | USB-A to USB-C | For Jetson Nano 2GB. About 0.1V less voltage drop compared to the GoPro cable under heavier load | rationalirl |
mcdodo USB-C cable with charge display 4ft | USB-A to USB-C | Used with Jetson Nano 2GB | Marlow |
CLEEFUN Short USB C to USB C Cable 0.3M | USB-C to USB-C | Used with the Jetson 2GB and PD power banks | rationalirl |
CLEEFUN Short USB A to USB C Cable 0.3M | USB-A to USB-C | Used with the Jetson 2GB and PD power banks | TicanUK |
RIITOP USB 3.0 Extension Cable Short 0.3m | USB-A to USB-A Extension | Works well with the Elgato Camlink as a replacement cable or with stick modems | TicanUK |
Capture card | Notes | Tested by |
---|---|---|
Camlink 4K | Currently the only officially supported capture card. Uncompressed video up to 1080p60 or 4k30 | rationalirl, monkeybananas, BVK2, and mostly everyone else |
AVerMedia Live Streamer Cap 4K (BU113) | Equivalent to the Camlink 4k in performance and pricing. rationalirl: Possible issues due to it not auto-detecting resolution and framerate. Definitely don't buy if you're using a 50Hz / PAL HDMI signal | Marlow |
DDU Video Capture Card | The infamous $15 USB 2 capture card. Works very well for its price. monkeybananas: for testing these cards are probably fine, however the output offered is of relatively low quality compared to the Camlink 4k. In addtion they seem to have poor quality control. Marlow: additionally some of these don't have a cooler on the main chip and burn out, if used over extensive periods. | special programs |
J5create JVA06 | Nice capture, that can take 2 HDMI inputs and 1 audio input and output via UVC or HDMI. It allows for switching and for Picture-in-Picture. Works on Jetson and Rockchip. | Marlow |
Modems | Notes | Tested by |
---|---|---|
Huawei E3372h-607 | Some versions apparently ship with firmware that doesn't allow changing the LAN IP address class. You may not be able to use more than one of those at a time. | Nokternl |
Huawei E8372h-608 | Some versions apparently ship with firmware that doesn't allow changing the LAN IP address class. You may not be able to use more than one of those at a time. | Nokternl |
Huawei E8372h-153 | Some versions apparently ship with firmware that doesn't allow changing the LAN IP address class. You may not be able to use more than one of those at a time. Can draw way over 1amp in low signal areas | TicanUK |
Huawei E3372-320 | Some versions apparently ship with firmware that doesn't allow changing the LAN IP address class. You may not be able to use more than one of those at a time. | rationalirl |
Huawei E5576-320 | WiFi may be flaky if used at the same time as USB. Separately both WiFi and USB seem solid | rationalirl |
iPhone (used as a modem via usb, all iOS versions) | Note by BVK2 1/25/23: As of iOS 16+, tethering is fine again. Note by Marlow: iPhones will only tether their mobile data and can not be used to tether wifi networks via usb | specialprograms, BVK, Marlow |
Inseego 8800L | If using USB, go to Preferences (via web UI) and set "USB mode when connected to a computer" to "Internet access via USB and Wi-Fi" and uncheck "Prompt on USB connection" otherwise it will ask every time you boot. | Replaisment |
Inseego M2100 | If using USB, go to Preferences (via web UI) and set "USB mode when connected to a computer" to "Internet access via USB and Wi-Fi" and uncheck "Prompt on USB connection" otherwise it will ask every time you boot. | Replaisment |
Netgear Unite Explore AC815S | PeloTom_ | |
Netgear Nighthawk M1 MR1100 | Note by BVK2 7/13/22: This modem is more geared towards T-Mobile & AT&T, but I have used a Visible Verizon SIM for the past year, and it's worked fine, BUT also please note that if this modem hits a 3G spot (low signal area), it will NOT automatically switch back to 4G by itself, so you have to manually restart it. Because of this, I am replacing mine when I can. NOTE2 by BVK2 1/5/23: 3G is now officially phased out in the U.S. as of 12/31/22 (Verizon was last to phase it) so this shouldn't be an issue now. NOTE3 by BVK2 1/25/23: Damn this modem, even with 3G phased out, it is STILL doing this issue. Netgear actually finally just reached out to me, so hopefully a solution soon... NOTE4 by BVK2 10/29/23: Netgear won't figure out a solution. Lost cause for me. | PeloTom_ & BVK2 |
Netgear Nighthawk M2 4G | MR2100, Firmware: NTGX24_10.17.10.00 - Used via ethernet only, Australian version tested by MeatSnackx. UK version, firmware NTGX24_10.17.08.00 tested by rationalirl: major stability issues, it tends to disconnect entirely from the network when used around other modems (both USB and Ethernet). Battery must be removed because it overheats in use. Draws too much power to be USB tethered directly to the Jetson. Don't buy it. Additionally from Marlow: power button has also been moved to capacity touch screen, which is terrible. Most certainly not something you should buy. | MeatSnackx, rationalirl, Marlow |
Netgear Nighthawk M5 5G - MR5200 | Used via ethernet only | Marlow |
Netgear Nighthawk M6 - MR6150 | X62 modem chipset. Works extremely well on 4G, has a tendency to overheat very easily when used over 5G networks for extended periods of time as it lacks the necessary cooling. If you're able to keep it cool, the 5G capabilities work fantastically. - Tested via ethernet w/battery removed. Not recommended for use with battery installed. | SPVCEMVN |
Netgear Nighthawk M6 Pro - MR6550 | X65 modem chipset. | SPVCEMVN |
NETGEAR AC797 | Used over USB | special programs |
Novatel 7730L | If using via USB, set default USB mode to USB/WiFi in options, otherwise it asks for USB permission on every boot. | ANHstradamus |
Orbic Myra 5G Phone | Tested in the U.S. on Visible. Tethered via USB. WiFi and Ethernet work fine. Does get pretty hot, though. | BVK2 |
Google Pixel 3a | Tested in the US on AT&T Prepaid, Visible. Tethered via USB. Phone software modifications of varying complexity might be required depending on the cell carrier and plan. Possible overheating. | monkeybananas |
Google Pixel 3a XL | Tested in the US on AT&T Prepaid, Visible. Tethered via USB. Phone Software modifications of varying complexity might be required depending on the cell carrier and plan. Possible overheating. | monkeybananas & BVK2 |
Google Pixel 4a | Tested in the US on AT&T Prepaid, Visible. Tethered via USB. Phone software modifications of varying complexity might be required depending on the cell carrier and plan. Possible overheating. | monkeybananas |
Google Pixel 4a 5g | Tested in the US on AT&T Prepaid, Visible. Tethered via USB. Phone software modifications of varying complexity might be required depending on the cell carrier and plan. Not all 5g midband available. Possible overheating. | monkeybananas |
T-Mobile HS1 | Tested in the US. Hotspot device for use on T-Mobile. HS1 might not be the official name, and the device might only be available through the T-Mobile Test Drive program. Can be tethered via WiFi or USB. USB-C Connector. | monkeybananas |
Verizon Inseego 8800L | Tested in the US. Hotspot device for use on Verizon. It can be tethered via WiFi or USB. Quite prone to overheating. Be sure to get firmware updates as it fixes a number of issues, though the updates might only be able to be downloaded when on Verizon itself. | monkeybananas |
TP-Link M7350 | USB tethering works fine. Battery must be left in. It does detect heat but doesn't usually give me issues. / KK - Use 2 connected with USB in UK and work well, agree with heat but I took the back panels off and it helps disperse heat. Can also connect to other devices over wifi at same time, like phones. | spiderfaced & KeiraKATANA |
TP-Link M7650 | USB tethering works fine. Battery must be left in. It does detect heat but doesn't usually give me issues. | spiderfaced |
ZTE MF823 | Can be cumbersome to get into IP mode. | Marlow |
ZTE MF833U1 aka Vodafone K5161z | Only tested the Vodafone-branded version. Fixed IP subnet: 192.168.0.0/24 with the original firmware and 192.168.6.0/24 after updating. Can be locked to 4G-only | rationalirl |
ZTE MF920U | Not recommended. It works via USB or WiFi, but it's one of those LTE devices with small buffers; it drops packets even under low congestion, which will make streams more likely to glitch. | rationalirl |
Fujisoft FSU040U | Recognized by Bela, hits every major band in Japan, Tested with Docomo, Softbank and AU | ItsGaijira |
Sharp SH-52A | Tested with Ethernet and USB, both works, but this device runs hot. | ItsGaijira |
Sharp SH-52B | Recognized over USB, will not work with ethernet using a USB-C to ethernet adapter | ItsGaijira |
TP-Link M7200 | Works well over USB and WiFi. | Murrito |
Alcatel IK41VE1 | Works well over USB. | Murrito |
ZTE MF79U | Works well over USB and WiFi. Work partially in France Bands B1/2/5/8 (France use B7/20 for 4G). Configurable LAN subnet. | Murrito, Meetropolis, vhasi |
D-Link DWM-222 | Works well over USB. Ships with firmware that doesn't allow changing the LAN IP address class. You can not use more than one of those at a time. Firmware must be the latest 2.0.2eu Rev a2 | KezzKezzKezz |
Huawei E5573C | MiFi - Micro-USB - works well on both Wifi and USB | TicanUK |
Huawei E5785-320 | Works well over USB. DJI Osmo 3 also works well over 5GHz Wi-Fi. | Murrito |
Huawei E5885Ls-93a | Works well over RJ45 + Wifi 2.4ghz. Tested with OPI5+ | VictorJaunts |
Netgear AC810S | Works well on Wifi 2.4/5ghz + USB (enable USB connection in settings or it won't work). Tested with OPI5+ | VictorJaunts |

GL.iNet GL-MT300N-V2 | When it works, it works well. But modem is prone to dropping wifi signals that it's relaying to the nano. Also, connecting to the modem over wifi can be very hit & miss. Sometimes the router doesn't broadcast its own wifi signal, forcing the user to restart multiple times until it works. | specialprograms |
GL.iNet Puli (GL-XE300) | Up to 4G LTE, works well with RJ45 connection. Also supports WiFi, but WiFi issue with the GL-MT300N-V2 not tested (My nano has no wifi module). WiFi seems stable on mobile phone. Has built-in 5,000 mAH battery and charges by USB-C. Take note of radio module when purchasing! | TANKER_06 |
Modem | Type | Working on BELABOX | Notes | Purchase price | Tested by |
---|---|---|---|---|---|
Fibocom FM350-GL | 5G | Experimental, RK3588-only | Experimental support in BELABOX since 7 Nov 2024. Must install latest update. More details in Discord | $50 | rationalirl |
Foxconn T77W968 aka Dell DW5821e | LTE Cat-16 | Yes, RK3588 & Jetson | Global band support. My BELABOX Bee reboot loops if this modem is connected at boot time. Works correctly if connected after it's already running. DW5821e-eSIM version works with physical SIM card in the carrier board (without using the eSIM). | $32 | rationalirl, vhasi |

Quectel EC25-G | LTE Cat-4 | Yes, RK3588 & Jetson | Global band support. Power draw appears to peak higher than others | $90 w/ USB adapter, housing and antennas | rationalirl |
Quectel RM520N-GL (SDX62) | 5G | Yes, RK3588, QMI Mode | Full Global band support. Instable on USB 2.0 or 3.0 ports on the OP5+ with some carrier boards. Works well on the USB-C port or when using a carrier board with external/auxiliary power input. Very dependent on the SBCs power capabilities and how much current it can supply. The GLAP model is suspected to only have PCIe and may not work with USB carrier boards, so unless you want to experiment make sure to get the GLAA model. | Around $150-300 USD without a carrier board depending on supplier. | SPVCEMVN |
Quectel RM530N-GL (SDX65 with-mmWave) | 5G | Yes, RK3588, QMI Mode | Full Global band support. Similar to RM520N-GL see above | Around $200-400 USD without a carrier board depending on supplier. | SPVCEMVN |

Intel Wireless-AC 8265 M.2 | Works great at adding a wifi connection to the 4GB Jetson (no slot for it in 2gb version), and as a useable connection for Belabox (tested on home network, and using iPhone as a hotspot). Is installed in the M.2 key E slot under the SOM (which will need to be removed to install). Bluetooth untested. Note - at time of testing the newer Intel AX200 does not work with the Jetson. The recommended WiFi adapter for RK3588 | Jetson Nano, RK3588 | rationalirl, R7Goodman |
Intel AX210 M.2 | Works for me, but another user reported driver errors. Not recommended at this time. | RK3588 | rationalirl |
LINCUKOO mini 802.11AC | Included with one variant of the NVIDIA Jetson 2GB kit. I've used it extensively in client mode with good reliability. Supports AP mode, but I haven't tested it much. Note that there seems to be a driver bug preventing more than one of this model to be used at the same time, if multiple dongles are plugged in, usually only one of them will actually be able to transfer data. | Jetson Nano, RK3588 | rationalirl, BVK2, Marlow |
TP-Link TL-WN725N | No 5GHz band support. RTL8188EUS chipset. Not tested extensively for reliability | Jetson Nano, RK3588 | rationalirl |
TP-Link Archer T2U Nano | RTL8811AU chipset. Not tested extensively for reliability | Jetson Nano, RK3588 | rationalirl, awptimustak, monkeybananas |
TP-Link Archer T3U | Not actually tested, but it should work, as it uses the same chipset as other tested cards and its USB PID is listed in the rtl8822bu driver source code | Jetson Nano, RK3588 | rationalirl |
TP-Link Archer T3U Nano | RTL8822BU chipset. Not tested extensively for reliability. It doesn't seem to show APs using the DFS bands. Only supported since March 23rd 2023, please update | Jetson Nano, RK3588 | rationalirl |
EDUP AC1300Mbps | RTL8822BU chipset. Not tested extensively for reliability. It does show APs using the DFS bands. | Jetson Nano, RK3588 | rationalirl |
EDIMax 7811Un v1 | Works out of the box, can be configured in AP mode if needed | Jetson Nano | baldpope |
EDIMax 7811Un v2 | edit 7/24 by kow: the current EW-7811Un V2 on amazon does not work out of the box on the Opi5+. Works out-of-the-box. Using 2GB Nano. NOTE 3/8/23: After a week of using this, for some reason, when connected to my phone hotspot, it randomly goes out a lot more than I would like and will be extremely low bitrate, so you have to disconnect the WiFi by going to the WiFi section in BelaUI and tapping on the yellow icon, then re-connect to it. | Jetson Nano | BVK2 |
EDIMax 7811UAC AC600 | Works out of the box, can be configured in AP mode if needed. Comes with high-gain antenna and extra cable to mount it further away from electronics | Jetson Nano | sir-electric |
Comfast MT7612U 1200M | MT7612U chipset, USB 3.0, Works out of the box. Comes with built in high-gain antenna | RK3588 | TobbyTravel |
Orange Pi 5 Plus Wi-Fi6 + BT5.2 Module | RTL8852BE chipset. Works out of the box, but shows up as two interfaces. Comes with external high-gain antennas. rationalirl: works, but the two wlan interfaces can only connect to 2 different networks if they run on the same WiFi channel because there's only one radio. And some operations on one interface will affect the functioning of the other one. If you use this, only ever connect or enable the hotspot on one of the interfaces, otherwise things will get confusing and unreliable. Not recommended | RK3588 | rationalirl, TobbyTravel |
Power ON DMG-07 | I plugged it into the OPI 5+ and was ready to go. No need to install any drivers. Conntected it to my WIFI and seems good. | RK3588 | nicolaeser (ipexa) |
D-Link DWA-131 | RTL8192SU chipset. Works for connecting to WiFi, but NOT as a Hot-spot. | RK3588 | SoWeQ, Spillmaker |
Cepter CCW11 | Store-brand (Power). Apparently using Realtek Chipset. Works both to connect to WiFi and as a Hot-spot. | RK3588 | SoWeQ, Spillmaker |
