According to the versioning guidelines, new capabilities should be accompanied with a minor version bump. Are there specific reasons why this change is happening intra-api version? What will the service do if it receives an unknown query parameter? Can you guarantee that all instances of the service will be updated to support the new parameters before we publish new client libraries/new documentation? |

Yes.. I can guarantee that the (one and only) instance of the service (the public instance) supports the new query parameters, and there is no change in the responses for clients that do not specify the parameters. We are good to make the change. In reply to: 705083536 [](ancestors = 705083536) |

After discussing with the cognitive services api review board, this is accepted. Going forward, the best forum for approvals is as part of the Service API change review. |
