Add function selector opcode

Updated docs preview

And cleanup:

  • remove function selector from PublicContextInputs
  • remove feePer*Gas from top-level AvmExecutionEvironment since they exist in globals
  • reorder after this ^
  • reorder instructions in a handful of places to match spec (especially C++ which seemed to have no particular ordering)
  • remove "temporary" prefix from "temporaryFunctionSelector"
  • remove unused gasSettings from AvmExecutionEnvironment
  • cleanup env getter tests in avm_simulator.test.ts and environment_getters.test.ts (make more concise)

Note that I did not fix all of the opcode ordering in C++ as it was spiraling out of control 😅 We can finish this in another PR

Detailed results

All benchmarks are run on txs on the Benchmarking contract on the repository. Each tx consists of a batch call to create_note and increment_balance, which guarantees that each tx has a private call, a nested private call, a public call, and a nested public call, as well as an emitted private note, an unencrypted log, and public storage read and write.

This benchmark source data is available in JSON format on S3 here.

These checks are also repeated on the private side so illegal calls are caught as soon as possible (otherwise we would have to wait until the kernel checks). I'm not 100% sure on how this is handled on the avm sim side, but might be worth looking at the tradeoff in speed (static calls e2e before/after should provide the relevant data)

We are not testing the right violation. This is testing that the memory trace is not compliant with the main trace memory operations pertaining to intermediate register IA. The whole list of such negative tests need to be adjusted as follows:

  • Mutate the memory trace with the "incorrect value" (Then PERM_MAIN_MEM_A should pass.)
  • Adjust the expected lookup violation.
