Good monring!

With kernel 6.12.10-2 I suddently get a max refreshrate of 30Hz on a 4k display via HDMI on my m1 macbook pro. With 6.12.9-1 everything is fine and i get 60Hz as expected. Rest of the system did not change, and a revert to the previous kernel fixes the issue.

I have not yet tried 6.12.10-1 or 6.12.9-2.

My best guess it is now only using 2 DP lanes instead of 4. That is a possible scenario based on changes I did. I'll take a look.

Same with 6.12.10 here.

phy_validate() on the DP only ATC phy returns 0 lanes if it happens
before the phy_set_mode(PHY_MODE_DP). Since this is the only known case
default to 4 lanes as the phy is used exclusively for DP.

Fixes: #367
