How to update properly while keeping settings (Windows 10)?

I understand that CudaText is portable and I'd have to manually drag +drop to overwite the cudatext directory. My question is which folders/files should I overwrite/not overwrite.
I can take a bit of a guess, but I'd like to make sure so that I don't break/lose any settings.

Also I know that there is no official auto-updater, is there any faster way to update on Windows OS via some 3rd party program or package manager?

Overwrite all folders present in the distro (data, py, etc - they may contains new folders in installed dir, you will overwrite only existing files).

Never overwrite 'settings' dir. It is absent in the distro.

Yes, e.g. WinRAR (and similar apps) has 'Overwrite all' checkbox.
