Andrii Nakryiko says: ==================== BPF control flow graph and precision backtrack fixes A small fix to BPF verifier's CFG logic around handling and reporting ldimm64 instructions. Patch #1 was previously submitted separately ([0]), and so this patch set supersedes that patch. Second patch is fixing obscure corner case in mark_chain_precise() logic. See patch for details. Patch #3 adds a dedicated test, however fragile it might. Inspired by syzbot reports using a stack of multiple ipvlan devices. Reduce stack size needed in ipvlan_process_v6_outbound() by moving the flowi6 struct used for the route lookup in an non inlined helper. ipvlan_route_v6_outbound() needs 120 bytes on the stack, immediately reclaimed. Also make sure ipvlan_process_v4_outbound() is not inlined. We might also have to lower MAX_NEST_DEV, because only syzbot uses setups with more than four stacked devices. Calling page_pool_get_stats in the mvneta driver without checks leads to kernel crashes. First the page pool is only available if the bm is not used. The page pool is also not allocated when the port is stopped. It can also be not allocated in case of errors. The current implementation leads to the following crash calling ethstats on a port that is down or when calling it at the wrong moment: ble to handle kernel NULL pointer dereference at virtual address 00000070 [00000070] *pgd=00000000 Internal error: Oops: 5 [#1] SMP ARM Hardware name: Marvell Armada 380/385 (Device Tree) PC is at page_pool_get_stats+0x18/0x1cc LR is at mvneta_ethtool_get_stats+0xa0/0xe0 [mvneta] pc : [<c0b413cc>] lr : [<bf0a98d8>] psr: a0000013 sp : f1439d48 ip : f1439dc0 fp : 0000001d r10: 00000100 r9 : c4816b80 r8 : f0d75150 r7 : bf0b400c r6 : c238f000 r5 : 00000000 r4 : f1439d68 r3 : c2091040 r2 : ffffffd8 r1 : f1439d68 r0 : 00000000 Flags: NzCv IRQs on FIQs on Mode SVC_32 ISA ARM Segment none Control: 10c5387d Table: 066b004a DAC: 00000051 Register r0 information: NULL pointer Register r1 information: 2-page vmalloc region starting at 0xf1438000 allocated at kernel_clone+0x9c/0x390 Register r2 information: non-paged memory Register r3 information: slab kmalloc-2k start c2091000 pointer offset 64 size 2048 Register r4 information: 2-page vmalloc region starting at 0xf1438000 allocated at kernel_clone+0x9c/0x390 Register r5 information: NULL pointer Register r6 information: slab kmalloc-cg-4k start c238f000 pointer offset 0 size 4096 Register r7 information: 15-page vmalloc region starting at 0xbf0a8000 allocated at load_module+0xa30/0x219c Register r8 information: 1-page vmalloc region starting at 0xf0d75000 allocated at ethtool_get_stats+0x138/0x208 Register r9 information: slab task_struct start c4816b80 pointer offset 0 Register r10 information: non-paged memory Register r11 information: non-paged memory Register r12 information: 2-page vmalloc region starting at 0xf1438000 allocated at kernel_clone+0x9c/0x390 Process snmpd (pid: 733, stack limit = 0x38de3a88) Stack: (0xf1439d48 to 0xf143a000) 9d40: 000000c0 00000001 c238f000 bf0b400c f0d75150 c4816b80 9d60: 00000100 bf0a98d8 00000000 00000000 00000000 00000000 00000000 00000000 9d80: 00000000 00000000 00000000 00000000 00000000 00000000 00000000 00000000 9da0: 00000000 00000000 00000000 00000000 00000000 00000000 00000000 00000000 9dc0: 00000dc0 5335509c 00000035 c238f000 bf0b2214 01067f50 f0d75000 c0b9b9c8 9de0: 0000001d 00000035 c2212094 5335509c c4816b80 c238f000 c5ad6e00 01067f50 9e00: c1b0be80 c4816b80 00014813 c0b9d7f0 00000000 00000000 0000001d 0000001d 9e20: 00000000 00001200 00000000 00000000 c216ed90 c73943b8 00000000 00000000 9e40: 00000000 00000000 00000000 00000000 00000000 00000000 00000000 00000000 9e60: 00000000 c0ad9034 00000000 00000000 00000000 00000000 00000000 00000000 9e80: 00000000 00000000 00000000 5335509c c1b0be80 f1439ee4 00008946 c1b0be80 9ea0: 01067f50 f1439ee3 00000000 00000046 b6d77ae0 c0b383f0 00008946 becc83e8 9ec0: c1b0be80 00000051 0000000b c68ca480 c7172d00 c0ad8ff0 f1439ee3 cf600e40 9ee0: 01600e40 32687465 00000000 00000000 00000000 01067f50 00000000 00000000 9f00: 00000000 5335509c 00008946 00008946 00000000 c68ca480 becc83e8 c05e2de0 9f20: f1439fb0 c03002f0 00000006 5ac3c35a c4816b80 00000006 b6d77ae0 c030caf0 9f40: c4817350 00000014 f1439e1c 0000000c 00000000 00000051 01000000 00000014 9f60: 00003fec f1439edc 00000001 c0372abc b6d77ae0 c0372abc cf600e40 5335509c 9f80: c21e6800 01015c9c 0000000b 00008946 00000036 c03002f0 c4816b80 00000036 9fa0: b6d77ae0 c03000c0 01015c9c 0000000b 0000000b 00008946 becc83e8 00000000 9fc0: 01015c9c 0000000b 00008946 00000036 00000035 010678a0 b6d797ec b6d77ae0 9fe0: b6dbf738 becc838c b6d186d7 b6baa858 40000030 0000000b 00000000 00000000 page_pool_get_stats from mvneta_ethtool_get_stats+0xa0/0xe0 [mvneta] mvneta_ethtool_get_stats [mvneta] from ethtool_get_stats+0x154/0x208 ethtool_get_stats from dev_ethtool+0xf48/0x2480 dev_ethtool from dev_ioctl+0x538/0x63c dev_ioctl from sock_ioctl+0x49c/0x53c sock_ioctl from sys_ioctl+0x134/0xbd8 sys_ioctl from ret_fast_syscall+0x0/0x1c Exception stack(0xf1439fa8 to 0xf1439ff0) 9fa0: 01015c9c 0000000b 0000000b 00008946 becc83e8 00000000 9fc0: 01015c9c 0000000b 00008946 00000036 00000035 010678a0 b6d797ec b6d77ae0 9fe0: b6dbf738 becc838c b6d186d7 b6baa858 Code: e28dd004 e1a05000 e2514000 0a00006a (e5902070) This commit adds the proper checks before calling page_pool_get_stats. Commit 9eed321 ("net: lapbether: only support ethernet devices") has been able to keep syzbot away from net/lapb, until today. In the following splat [1], the issue is that a lapbether device has been created on a bonding device without members. Then adding a non ARPHRD_ETHER member forced the bonding master to change its type. The fix is to make sure we call dev_close() in bond_setup_by_slave() so that the potential linked lapbether devices (or any other devices having assumptions on the physical device) are removed. A similar bug has been addressed in commit 40baec2 ("bonding: fix panic on non-ARPHRD_ETHER enslave failure") [1] skbuff: skb_under_panic: text:ffff800089508810 len:44 put:40 head:ffff0000c78e7c00 data:ffff0000c78e7bea tail:0x16 end:0x140 dev:bond0 kernel BUG at net/core/skbuff.c:192 ! Use the qcq's interrupt index, not the irq number, to mask the interrupt. Since the irq number can be out of range from the number of possible interrupts, we can end up accessing and potentially scribbling on out-of-range and/or unmapped memory, making the kernel angry. After the blamed commit below, the MPTCP release callback can dereference the first subflow pointer via __mptcp_set_connected() and send buffer auto-tuning. Such pointer is always expected to be valid, except at socket destruction time, when the first subflow is deleted and the pointer zeroed. Ensure the skb is available in metadata mapping to skbs before tracking the metadata index for detecting undelivered CQEs. If the metadata index is put in the tracking list before putting the skb in the map, the metadata index might be used for detecting undelivered CQEs before the relevant skb is available in the map, which can lead to a null-ptr-deref. no problem i am more prefer to move the dev related matter into this issue pages, kind of. if you really wanted to include the driver, i am afraid you need to spend some time to add support for nt36672c on your side. it depends on how different nt36675 and 36672c difference, such ad crc etc. initially i wonder if easily add nt36672c into the probe list is enough but, no idea. i can help to point out that. the driver default behavior is to expect each time panel sleep->wake up, fw need to download again. See if nt36672c work the same. |

I already added https://github.com/sm7150-mainline/linux/tree/surya-ts |
i made some comment here. and here hope above helps. |
btw, i dont have plan to submit upstream, if you wanna to improve and submit to the kernel mailing list, please do so. dont hesitate! i am feeling great people get used of the code. |
I know a lot of people who have various nvt-ts-spi touchscreens (including goodix_ts_berlin), they are happy to participate in testing and development of the driver. It’s just that no one knew that the driver had already begun to be rewritten. Still a very good job! Thanks! |
But I would really like to contact you somewhere. It would be great if you joined https://matrix.to/#/#sm7150-mainline:matrix.org, we discuss sm7125 there too. ungeskriptet (who is upstreaming sm7125 at the moment) and jojo_autoboy (who is testing a lot of things on sm7125) are also in this chat. They will be happy to exchange experiences |
Adrian wants to run AOSP on sm7150-mainline, so he'd be happy too |
Hi JIaxyga, Nice, great to hear that, and also appreciate your patches in mailing list. Unfortunately my poor little joyeuse is on EOL count down soon. I do not have plan to repair, mainly not financial worthy for at least battery replacement, back panel, volume key and checkup fee... Plz keep the good work! Tribute to the great but poor little sm7125 phone Best wishes, |
Down key button doesnt work on the last next. I havent looked for the reason yet, so idk All the best, |
feel the same, buddy. my side, i got physically damages of back panel, the batt expand (a bit risky) and down vol button fixture crack, it makes me enter fastboot not so easily. I really like to see if your side can get the modem or (eventually) wifi up. So on sm7125 chip it would be in very simple porting to make it work. see if that happened soon and i can help to test it on the breaky phone. best wish! |
We have working modem (for calls, SMS and mobile data), wifi, bt (gps works only by triangulation) P.S Bluetooth is broken since v6.5-rc1. Need to revert some commit to fix this. Check out our branch v6.6.1 P.S2 It is unlikely that modem will work in android. Need modemmanager All the best, |
The commit 5721d4e enhanced dm-verity, so that it can verify blocks from tasklets rather than from workqueues. This reportedly improves performance significantly. However, dm-verity was using the flag CRYPTO_TFM_REQ_MAY_SLEEP from tasklets which resulted in warnings about sleeping function being called from non-sleeping context. However, bch_sectors_dirty_init() is not found in the stack of any task. Since state is allocated on the stack, we guess that bch_sectors_dirty_init() has exited, causing bch_dirty_init_thread() to be unable to handle kernel paging request. In order to verify this idea, we added some printing information during wake_up(&state->wait). We find that "wake up" is printed twice, however we only expect the last thread to wake up once. ```dmesg [ 994.641004] alcache: bch_dirty_init_thread() wake up [ 994.641018] alcache: bch_dirty_init_thread() wake up [ 994.641523] alcache: bch_sectors_dirty_init() init exit ``` There is a race. If bch_sectors_dirty_init() exits after the first wake up, the second wake up will trigger this bug("unable to handle kernel paging request"). Proceed as follows: bch_sectors_dirty_init kthread_run ==============> bch_dirty_init_thread(bch_dirtcnt[0]) ... ... atomic_inc(&state.started) ... ... ... atomic_read(&state.enough) ... ... atomic_set(&state->enough, 1) kthread_run ======================================================> bch_dirty_init_thread(bch_dirtcnt[1]) ... atomic_dec_and_test(&state->started) ... atomic_inc(&state.started) ... ... ... wake_up(&state->wait) ... atomic_read(&state.enough) atomic_dec_and_test(&state->started) ... ... wait_event(state.wait, atomic_read(&state.started) == 0) ... return ... wake_up(&state->wait) We believe it is very common to wake up twice if there is no dirty, but crash is an extremely low probability event. It's hard for us to reproduce this issue. We attached and detached continuously for a week, with a total of more than one million attaches and only one crash. Putting atomic_inc(&state.started) before kthread_run() can avoid waking up twice. …f-times' Eduard Zingerman says: ==================== verify callbacks as if they are called unknown number of times This series updates verifier logic for callback functions handling. Current master simulates callback body execution exactly once, which leads to verifier not detecting unsafe programs like below: static int unsafe_on_zero_iter_cb(__u32 idx, struct num_context *ctx) { ctx->i = 0; return 0; } SEC("?raw_tp") int unsafe_on_zero_iter(void *unused) { struct num_context loop_ctx = { .i = 32 }; __u8 choice_arr[2] = { 0, 1 }; bpf_loop(100, unsafe_on_zero_iter_cb, &loop_ctx, 0); return choice_arr[loop_ctx.i]; } This was reported previously in [0]. The basic idea of the fix is to schedule callback entry state for verification in env->head until some identical, previously visited state in current DFS state traversal is found. Same logic as with open coded iterators, and builds on top recent fixes [1] for those. The series is structured as follows: - patches #1,2,3 update strobemeta, xdp_synproxy selftests and bpf_loop_bench benchmark to allow convergence of the bpf_loop callback states; - patches #4,5 just shuffle the code a bit; - patch #6 is the main part of the series; - patch torvalds#7 adds test cases for #6; - patch torvalds#8 extend patch #6 with same speculative scalar widening logic, as used for open coded iterators; - patch torvalds#9 adds test cases for torvalds#8; - patch torvalds#10 extends patch #6 to track maximal number of callback executions specifically for bpf_loop(); - patch torvalds#11 adds test cases for torvalds#10. Veristat results comparing this series to master+patches #1,2,3 using selftests show the following difference: File Program States (A) States (B) States (DIFF) ------------------------- ------------- ---------- ---------- ------------- bpf_loop_bench.bpf.o benchmark 1 2 +1 (+100.00%) pyperf600_bpf_loop.bpf.o on_event 322 407 +85 (+26.40%) strobemeta_bpf_loop.bpf.o on_event 113 151 +38 (+33.63%) xdp_synproxy_kern.bpf.o syncookie_tc 341 291 -50 (-14.66%) xdp_synproxy_kern.bpf.o syncookie_xdp 344 301 -43 (-12.50%) Veristat results comparing this series to master using Tetragon BPF files [2] also show some differences. States diff varies from +2% to +15% on 23 programs out of 186, no new failures. Changelog: - V3 [5] -> V4, changes suggested by Andrii: - validate mark_chain_precision() result in patch torvalds#10; - renaming s/cumulative_callback_depth/callback_unroll_depth/. - V2 [4] -> V3: - fixes in expected log messages for test cases: - callback_result_precise; - parent_callee_saved_reg_precise_with_callback; - parent_stack_slot_precise_with_callback; - renamings (suggested by Alexei): - s/callback_iter_depth/cumulative_callback_depth/ - s/is_callback_iter_next/calls_callback/ - s/mark_callback_iter_next/mark_calls_callback/ - prepare_func_exit() updated to exit with -EFAULT when callee->in_callback_fn is true but calls_callback() is not true for callsite; - test case 'bpf_loop_iter_limit_nested' rewritten to use return value check instead of verifier log message checks (suggested by Alexei). - V1 [3] -> V2, changes suggested by Andrii: - small changes for error handling code in __check_func_call(); - callback body processing log is now matched in relevant verifier_subprog_precision.c tests; - R1 passed to bpf_loop() is now always marked as precise; - log level 2 message for bpf_loop() iteration termination instead of iteration depth messages; - __no_msg macro removed; - bpf_loop_iter_limit_nested updated to avoid using __no_msg; - commit message for patch #3 updated according to Alexei's request. When scanning namespaces, it is possible to get valid data from the first call to nvme_identify_ns() in nvme_alloc_ns(), but not from the second call in nvme_update_ns_info_block(). In particular, if the NSID becomes inactive between the two commands, a storage device may return a buffer filled with zero as per 4.1.5.1. In this case, we can get a kernel crash due to a divide-by-zero in blk_stack_limits() because ns->lba_shift will be set to zero. In addition, there are challenges with keeping the node id of the memory that is being remove to the time when memmap accounting is actually performed: since this is done after remove_pfn_range_from_zone(), and also after remove_memory_block_devices(). Meaning that we cannot use pgdat nor walking though memblocks to get the nid. Given all of that, account the memmap overhead system wide instead. For this we are going to be using global atomic counters, but given that memmap size is rarely modified, and normally is only modified either during early boot when there is only one CPU, or under a hotplug global mutex lock, therefore there is no need for per-cpu optimizations. Also, while we are here rename nr_memmap to nr_memmap_pages, and nr_memmap_boot to nr_memmap_boot_pages to be self explanatory that the units are in page count. However with a sufficiently large request, the splitting logic causes each sg to be split into two commands in the DMA table, leading to overflow of the DMA table, triggering the BUG_ON(). With default settings the bug doesn't trigger, because the request size is limited by max_sectors_kb == 1280, however max_sectors_kb can be increased, and apparently some distros do that by default using udev rules. Fix the bug for 4KB kernels by reverting to the old max_segment_size. For 64KB kernels the sg_tablesize needs to be halved, to allow for the possibility that each sg will be split into two. This fixes the random kernel crash seen while removing the driver, when running the load/unload test over multiple iterations. 1) modprobe btnxpuart 2) hciconfig hci0 reset 3) hciconfig (check hci0 interface up with valid BD address) 4) modprobe -r btnxpuart Repeat steps 1 to 4 The ps_wakeup() call in btnxpuart_close() schedules the psdata->work(), which gets scheduled after module is removed, causing a kernel crash. This hidden issue got highlighted after enabling Power Save by default in 4183a7b (Bluetooth: btnxpuart: Enable Power Save feature on startup) The new ps_cleanup() deasserts UART break immediately while closing serdev device, cancels any scheduled ps_work and destroys the ps_lock mutex. In the cited commit, bond->ipsec_lock is added to protect ipsec_list, hence xdo_dev_state_add and xdo_dev_state_delete are called inside this lock. As ipsec_lock is a spin lock and such xfrmdev ops may sleep, "scheduling while atomic" will be triggered when changing bond's active slave. The km.state is not checked in driver's delayed work. When xfrm_state_check_expire() is called, the state can be reset to XFRM_STATE_EXPIRED, even if it is XFRM_STATE_DEAD already. This happens when xfrm state is deleted, but not freed yet. As __xfrm_state_delete() is called again in xfrm timer, the following crash occurs. To fix this issue, skip xfrm_state_check_expire() if km.state is not XFRM_STATE_VALID. After commit 7c6d2ec ("net: be more gentle about silly gso requests coming from user") virtio_net_hdr_to_skb() had sanity check to detect malicious attempts from user space to cook a bad GSO packet. Then commit cf9acc9 ("net: virtio_net_hdr_to_skb: count transport header in UFO") while fixing one issue, allowed user space to cook a GSO packet with the following characteristic : IPv4 SKB_GSO_UDP, gso_size=3, skb->len = 28. When this packet arrives in qdisc_pkt_len_init(), we end up with hdr_len = 28 (IPv4 header + UDP header), matching skb->len Then the following sets gso_segs to 0 : gso_segs = DIV_ROUND_UP(skb->len - hdr_len, shinfo->gso_size); Then later we set qdisc_skb_cb(skb)->pkt_len to back to zero :/ qdisc_skb_cb(skb)->pkt_len += (gso_segs - 1) * hdr_len; This leads to the following crash in fq_codel [1] qdisc_pkt_len_init() is best effort, we only want an estimation of the bytes sent on the wire, not crashing the kernel. This patch is fixing this particular issue, a following one adds more sanity checks for another potential bug. … entry Starting with commit c0247d2 ("btrfs: send: annotate struct name_cache_entry with __counted_by()") we annotated the variable length array "name" from the name_cache_entry structure with __counted_by() to improve overflow detection. However that alone was not correct, because the length of that array does not match the "name_len" field - it matches that plus 1 to include the NUL string terminator, so that makes a fortified kernel think there's an overflow and report a splat like this: strcpy: detected buffer overflow: 20 byte write of buffer size 19 WARNING: CPU: 3 PID: 3310 at __fortify_report+0x45/0x50 CPU: 3 UID: 0 PID: 3310 Comm: btrfs Not tainted 6.11.0-prnet #1 Hardware name: CompuLab Ltd. sbc-ihsw/Intense-PC2 (IPC2), BIOS IPC2_3.330.7 X64 03/15/2018 RIP: 0010:__fortify_report+0x45/0x50 Code: 48 8b 34 (...) Then we continue the error path cleanup in btrfs_balance() by calling reset_balance_state() which will call del_balance_item() to fully delete the balance item in the root tree. However during the small window between set_reloc_contrl() and unset_reloc_control(), we can have a subvolume tree update and created a reloc_root for that subvolume. Then we go into the final btrfs_commit_transaction() of del_balance_item(), and into btrfs_update_reloc_root() inside commit_fs_roots(). That function checks if fs_info->reloc_ctl is in the merge_reloc_tree stage, but since fs_info->reloc_ctl is NULL, it results a NULL pointer dereference. [FIX] Just add extra check on fs_info->reloc_ctl inside btrfs_update_reloc_root(), before checking fs_info->reloc_ctl->merge_reloc_tree. That DEAD_RELOC_TREE handling is to prevent further modification to the reloc tree during merge stage, but since there is no reloc_ctl at all, we do not need to bother that. Analysing the vmcore, we know that nfs4_copy_state listed by destination nfs_server->ss_copies was added by the field copies in handle_async_copy(), and we found a waiting copy process with the stack as: PID: 3511963 TASK: ffff710028b47e00 CPU: 0 COMMAND: "cp" #0 [ffff8001116ef740] __switch_to at ffff8000081b92f4 #1 [ffff8001116ef760] __schedule at ffff800008dd0650 #2 [ffff8001116ef7c0] schedule at ffff800008dd0a00 #3 [ffff8001116ef7e0] schedule_timeout at ffff800008dd6aa0 #4 [ffff8001116ef860] __wait_for_common at ffff800008dd166c #5 [ffff8001116ef8e0] wait_for_completion_interruptible at ffff800008dd1898 #6 [ffff8001116ef8f0] handle_async_copy at ffff8000055142f4 [nfsv4] torvalds#7 [ffff8001116ef970] _nfs42_proc_copy at ffff8000055147c8 [nfsv4] torvalds#8 [ffff8001116efa80] nfs42_proc_copy at ffff800005514cf0 [nfsv4] torvalds#9 [ffff8001116efc50] __nfs4_copy_file_range.constprop.0 at ffff8000054ed694 [nfsv4] The NULL-pointer dereference was due to nfs42_complete_copies() listed the nfs_server->ss_copies by the field ss_copies of nfs4_copy_state. So the nfs4_copy_state address ffff0100f98fa3f0 was offset by 0x10 and the data accessed through this pointer was also incorrect. Generally, the ordered list nfs4_state_owner->so_states indicate open(O_RDWR) or open(O_WRITE) states are reclaimed firstly by nfs4_reclaim_open_state(). When destination state reclaim is failed with NFS_STATE_RECOVERY_FAILED and copies are not deleted in nfs_server->ss_copies, the source state may be passed to the nfs42_complete_copies() process earlier, resulting in this crash scene finally. To solve this issue, we add a list_head nfs_server->ss_src_copies for a server-to-server copy specially. Fix a kernel panic in the br_netfilter module when sending untagged traffic via a VxLAN device. This happens during the check for fragmentation in br_nf_dev_queue_xmit. It is dependent on: 1) the br_netfilter module being loaded; 2) net.bridge.bridge-nf-call-iptables set to 1; 3) a bridge with a VxLAN (single-vxlan-device) netdevice as a bridge port; 4) untagged frames with size higher than the VxLAN MTU forwarded/flooded When forwarding the untagged packet to the VxLAN bridge port, before the netfilter hooks are called, br_handle_egress_vlan_tunnel is called and changes the skb_dst to the tunnel dst. The tunnel_dst is a metadata type of dst, i.e., skb_valid_dst(skb) is false, and metadata->dst.dev is NULL. Then in the br_netfilter hooks, in br_nf_dev_queue_xmit, there's a check for frames that needs to be fragmented: frames with higher MTU than the VxLAN device end up calling br_nf_ip_fragment, which in turns call ip_skb_dst_mtu. The ip_dst_mtu tries to use the skb_dst(skb) as if it was a valid dst with valid dst->dev, thus the crash. This case was never supported in the first place, so drop the packet instead. Andy Roulin says: ==================== netfilter: br_netfilter: fix panic with metadata_dst skb There's a kernel panic possible in the br_netfilter module when sending untagged traffic via a VxLAN device. Traceback is included below. This happens during the check for fragmentation in br_nf_dev_queue_xmit if the MTU on the VxLAN device is not big enough. It is dependent on: 1) the br_netfilter module being loaded; 2) net.bridge.bridge-nf-call-iptables set to 1; 3) a bridge with a VxLAN (single-vxlan-device) netdevice as a bridge port; 4) untagged frames with size higher than the VxLAN MTU forwarded/flooded This case was never supported in the first place, so the first patch drops such packets. A regression selftest is added as part of the second patch. PING 10.0.0.2 (10.0.0.2) from 0.0.0.0 h1-eth0: 2000(2028) bytes of data. Although all perfmons are destroyed in `v3d_perfmon_close_file()`, the active performance monitor's pointer (`v3d->active_perfmon`) is still retained. If `kmscube` is run again, the driver will attempt to stop the active performance monitor using the stale pointer in `v3d->active_perfmon`. However, this pointer is no longer valid because the previous process has already terminated, and all performance monitors associated with it have been destroyed and freed. To fix this, when the active performance monitor belongs to a given process, explicitly stop it before destroying and freeing it. Since commit 3f8ca2e ("vhost/scsi: Extract common handling code from control queue handler") a null pointer dereference bug can be triggered when guest sends an SCSI AN request. In vhost_scsi_ctl_handle_vq(), `vc.target` is assigned with `&v_req.tmf.lun[1]` within a switch-case block and is then passed to vhost_scsi_get_req() which extracts `vc->req` and `tpg`. However, for a `VIRTIO_SCSI_T_AN_*` request, tpg is not required, so `vc.target` is set to NULL in this branch. Later, in vhost_scsi_get_req(), `vc->target` is dereferenced without being checked, leading to a null pointer dereference bug. This bug can be triggered from guest. When this bug occurs, the vhost_worker process is killed while holding `vq->mutex` and the corresponding tpg will remain occupied indefinitely. Commit 004d250 ("igb: Fix igb_down hung on surprise removal") changed igb_io_error_detected() to ignore non-fatal pcie errors in order to avoid hung task that can happen when igb_down() is called multiple times. This caused an issue when processing transient non-fatal errors. igb_io_resume(), which is called after igb_io_error_detected(), assumes that device is brought down by igb_io_error_detected() if the interface is up. This resulted in panic with stacktrace below. Most qdiscs maintain their backlog using qdisc_pkt_len(skb) on the assumption it is invariant between the enqueue() and dequeue() handlers. Unfortunately syzbot can crash a host rather easily using a TBF + SFQ combination, with an STAB on SFQ [1] We can't support TCA_STAB on arbitrary level, this would require to maintain per-qdisc storage. This is because MSS can be set in sock_create_kern or smc_setsockopt, similar to how it's done in AF_SMC. However, for AF_SMC, there is currently no way to synchronize MSS within __sys_connect_file. This toy implementation lays the groundwork for us to support such feature for IPPROTO_SMC in the future. After a CPU has set itself offline and before it eventually calls rcutree_report_cpu_dead(), there are still opportunities for callbacks to be enqueued, for example from a softirq. When that happens on NOCB, the rcuog wake-up is deferred through an IPI to an online CPU in order not to call into the scheduler and risk arming the RT-bandwidth after hrtimers have been migrated out and disabled. But performing a synchronized IPI from a softirq is buggy as reported in the following scenario: WARNING: CPU: 1 PID: 26 at kernel/smp.c:633 smp_call_function_single Modules linked in: rcutorture torture CPU: 1 UID: 0 PID: 26 Comm: migration/1 Not tainted 6.11.0-rc1-00012-g9139f93209d1 #1 Stopper: multi_cpu_stop+0x0/0x320 <- __stop_cpus+0xd0/0x120 RIP: 0010:smp_call_function_single <IRQ> swake_up_one_online __call_rcu_nocb_wake __call_rcu_common ? rcu_torture_one_read call_timer_fn __run_timers run_timer_softirq handle_softirqs irq_exit_rcu ? tick_handle_periodic sysvec_apic_timer_interrupt </IRQ> Fix this with forcing deferred rcuog wake up through the NOCB timer when the CPU is offline. The actual wake up will happen from rcutree_report_cpu_dead(). This is because is it done very early in the exception and there are not enough registers available to keep a pointer to thread struct. However, dcbz instruction is buggy and doesn't update DAR register on fault. That is detected and generates a call to FixupDAR workaround which updates DAR copy in thread struct but doesn't fix DAR register. …git/netfilter/nf Pablo Neira Ayuso says: ==================== Netfilter fixes for net v2: with kdoc fixes per Paolo Abeni. The following patchset contains Netfilter fixes for net: Patch #1 and #2 handle an esoteric scenario: Given two tasks sending UDP packets to one another, two packets of the same flow in each direction handled by different CPUs that result in two conntrack objects in NEW state, where reply packet loses race. Then, patch #3 adds a testcase for this scenario. Series from Florian Westphal. 1) NAT engine can falsely detect a port collision if it happens to pick up a reply packet as NEW rather than ESTABLISHED. Add extra code to detect this and suppress port reallocation in this case. 2) To complete the clash resolution in the reply direction, extend conntrack logic to detect clashing conntrack in the reply direction to existing entry. 3) Adds a test case. Then, an assorted list of fixes follow: 4) Add a selftest for tproxy, from Antonio Ojea. 5) Guard ctnetlink_*_size() functions under #if defined(CONFIG_NETFILTER_NETLINK_GLUE_CT) || defined(CONFIG_NF_CONNTRACK_EVENTS) From Andy Shevchenko. 6) Use -m socket --transparent in iptables tproxy documentation. From XIE Zhibang. 7) Call kfree_rcu() when releasing flowtable hooks to address race with netlink dump path, from Phil Sutter. 8) Fix compilation warning in nf_reject with CONFIG_BRIDGE_NETFILTER=n. From Simon Horman. 9) Guard ctnetlink_label_size() under CONFIG_NF_CONNTRACK_EVENTS which is its only user, to address a compilation warning. From Simon Horman. 10) Use rcu-protected list iteration over basechain hooks from netlink dump path. 11) Fix memcg for nf_tables, use GFP_KERNEL_ACCOUNT is not complete. 12) Remove old nfqueue conntrack clash resolution. Instead trying to use same destination address consistently which requires double DNAT, use the existing clash resolution which allows clashing packets go through with different destination. Antonio Ojea originally reported an issue from the postrouting chain, I proposed a fix: https://lore.kernel.org/netfilter-devel/ZuwSwAqKgCB2a51-@calendula/T/ which he reported it did not work for him. 13) Adds a selftest for patch 12. 14) Fixes ipvs.sh selftest. netfilter pull request 24-09-26 * tag 'nf-24-09-26' of git://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/netfilter/nf: selftests: netfilter: Avoid hanging ipvs.sh kselftest: add test for nfqueue induced conntrack race netfilter: nfnetlink_queue: remove old clash resolution logic netfilter: nf_tables: missing objects with no memcg accounting netfilter: nf_tables: use rcu chain hook list iterator from netlink dump path netfilter: ctnetlink: compile ctnetlink_label_size with CONFIG_NF_CONNTRACK_EVENTS netfilter: nf_reject: Fix build warning when CONFIG_BRIDGE_NETFILTER=n netfilter: nf_tables: Keep deleted flowtable hooks until after RCU docs: tproxy: ignore non-transparent sockets in iptables netfilter: ctnetlink: Guard possible unused functions selftests: netfilter: nft_tproxy.sh: add tcp tests selftests: netfilter: add reverse-clash resolution test case netfilter: conntrack: add clash resolution for reverse collisions netfilter: nf_nat: don't try nat source port reallocation for reverse dir clash ==================== Link: https://patch.msgid.link/[email protected] Signed-off-by: Paolo Abeni <[email protected]>
