Currently, when you run the app (on linux) without root, it will just crash with arbitrary message (something like, keyboard model couldn't be detected). It'd make a lot of sense to just detect if the user ran the program as super user, if not, then just let them know that the sudo privileges are required, hence making it less likely to be confused.
