Came to this code example from here: TypeStrong/ts-node#782
This appears to work only because you have not defined the types in your request handler. This actually fails if you do:
import { Request, Response, NextFunction } from 'express'; const weirdMiddleware = (req: Request, res: Response, next: NextFunction) => { req.boo = 'boo'; next(); };
Also based on referenced ticket, this would be the recommended call to ts-node:
ts-node --files index.ts
