What happened?

When assigning single-letter keys, such as ‘w’ for open new tab or ‘q’ for close tab, as shortcuts, the browser interprets these key presses as commands even while typing in input fields. This causes unintended actions such as opening new tabs or closing existing tabs. Considering we're allowed to make single key shortcuts I'm assuming this is a bug and not intended.

Reproducible?

  • I have checked that this issue cannot be reproduced on Mozilla Firefox.
