Tab completely loses interactivity (mouse & keyboard) and is only returned on page refresh

What happened?

Around 20% of the time (which is a lot!) pages will stop responding to mouse clicks and keyboard input. The cursor will also stop reacting to links or things by changing the icon to pointer. It remains the default cursor. This is sometimes fixed by changing tabs and going back to the faulty tab, but other times not. Refresh is the only way to fix it, and sometimes (around 20% of the time) the refresh doesn't fix it either.

Reproducible?

• I have checked that this issue cannot be reproduced on Mozilla Firefox.
