"I'm experiencing a persistent issue with the Zen application on my Ubuntu 24.10 system (Gnome 47). Every time I attempt to open a new Zen window by right-clicking its icon in the dock and choosing 'open a new window', my cursor becomes a spinning wheel, indicating that the system is busy. This delay typically lasts around a minute before the Zen application finally launches. Given this unusual behavior, I suspect there might be a bug within the application itself or perhaps a compatibility issue with my system. For your reference, I installed Zen 1.0.1-a.19 using Flatpak." Screencast From 2024-11-17 22-27-50.webm

Zen hangs on startup #2986
This issue was resolved by deleting a problematic profile. The user found that profiles were located in the .zen directory and edited the profiles.ini file to change the profile. Deleting the problematic "Arik" profile fixed the issue.
Start up is extremely slow #1152
This issue was caused by Windows Defender throttling Zen. The suggested solution was to add an exception for Zen in Windows Defender to resolve the slow startup issue.
@mr-cheff, the user Jan-DT has indicated that they are still experiencing the issue on Ubuntu 24.10 with a Flatpak install. Could you please assist them with this?
