What happened?

More than one window was open. The first window had pinned tabs. Other windows had no pinned tabs. I closed the first window. Then I closed the other windows. When I opened the Zen browser again, there were no pinned tabs (unpinned). Pinned tabs disappear.
Clear history or close tabs settings are off. Tabs don't close, old tabs reopen every time I open the browser. But the pinned tabs did not open, nor were they fixed.
(No pinned tabs when opening other windows. I want pinned tabs to open in every window).

Reproducible?

  • I have checked that this issue cannot be reproduced on Mozilla Firefox.

I can reproduce:

Screen.Recording.2024-11-12.140031.mp4

It even closed the window where I only had 1 pinned tab. When using Ctrl + Shift + T (reopen closed tab) all pinned tabs reappear in the correct place

Hi, @universish. I'm Dosu, and I'm helping the desktop team manage their backlog. I'm marking this issue as stale.

Issue Summary:

  • The Zen browser loses pinned tabs after closing and reopening, especially with multiple windows.
  • You were advised to check if the "Clear history when Zen browser" setting is enabled.
  • @BoscoDomingo confirmed the issue and mentioned that Ctrl + Shift + T can restore the tabs.
  • The issue affects both Linux and Windows but is not present in Mozilla Firefox.

Next Steps:

  • Please let us know if this issue is still relevant to the latest version of the desktop repository by commenting here.
  • If there is no further activity, this issue will be automatically closed in 7 days.

Thank you for your understanding and contribution!
