According to the allowable keybinds, the Ctrl modifier should be able to be used with any character class keys--which should include ` (grave accent). I have tried binding ` without any modifiers as well as Alt `, and both work.

Using cat to inspect keypresses, I realized Ctrl ` and Ctrl Space output the same sequences. As a result, may be related to #357 and #2626. I will look for workarounds by rebinding keys in my terminal emulator. Feel free to close.
