Device Type

Smart TV/Box

Affected Android

Android TV 11

Steps to reproduce the bu

EDIT: also happens using the official YouTube TV app, so probably not a SmartTube issue. Feel free to close, if you agree.

  1. Use Android’s integrated HDMI Self-Adaptation (basically AutoFrameRate on the OS level).
  2. Play a 60fps video.
  3. Android switches the screen to 30Hz. It should switch to 60, but something in SmartTube maybe is reporting the wrong framerate information to the OS.

Aside from SmartTube, HDMI self-adaptation works fine everywhere else, e.g. Kodi.
That’s why I suspect this might be a SmartTube issue.

I’m happy to provide additional information.
Thank you.

Edit: also happens for other FPS types. Even a 25fps video causes the OS to switch to 30Hz.
