Enabled nodeLinker: pnp and getting EXPORTS_RESOLUTION_FAILED

After using nodeLinker: node-modules mode successfully for several months I've just returned to trying out nodeLinker: pnp mode since it never worked for me previously. I was hoping things were better now as creating the node_modules directory take quite a long time on my CI system.

I'm running my tests in one of my workspaces and I get the following error which seems to contradict itself:

Is this a bug or do I have to do some extra config?

@robinelvin I encountered the same error as above using the nodeLinker: pnp for vitest. I'd to change it back to nodeLinker: node-modules for the tests to work as expected. There isn't a resolution for this yet.

If you're running node < v20, in your .pnp.cjs, replace all instances of new URL( with new url.URL(. Without the change, the URL instances will be browser compatible and not strictly the same as the instances from the url package. The pnp code relies on some code in the url package that is picky and rejects instances that are not created by the url package. The isURL function is different, and flexible, starting with node v20 so I suspect the problem does not exist for v20+.
