Is there a limitation on the size of the code in the repository? For example, if I have a codebase with millions or tens of millions of lines, can it still be used normally?

Repomix processes everything in memory, so the practical maximum size depends on the available memory.

The largest repository I’ve tested so far is the Next.js repository:

That said, compared to the context length limitations of LLMs, Repomix's maximum size is not something to be overly concerned about.

However, by controlling the scope with include and ignore options, Repomix can effectively handle repositories of any size.

I have a repository that has around 130 mb, there are some big files that are not needed (images and such).

But the repository is private. The repomix website doesn't allow upload above 10 mb

Should I just install it locally and it will run ok?

Yes.
For smaller projects, you can use repomix.com directly.
However, for medium or larger repositories, or private repositories, it’s recommended to run npx repomix --remote <repository url>.
If you already have the project locally, simply navigate to the project folder and run npx repomix.
