I usually just use the ESLint extension for VSCode and it fits well into my workflow. Could you tell me what are the benefits of using ESLint at compile time?

This plugin is only use in development.
Like typecheking, most of errors will be in edited files and also visible in the editor, but after a refactor or a type change of a function (for some rules of eslint-typescript), some warnings can appear in files not opened in the editor.
I use WebStorm so I don't know if this case if well covered or not in VSCode.
