Takes a 3 to 4 seconds to download a small text file from Google Drive can this be made faster.... (good For passing application data over web)

Just an idea for a feature if you could figure it out in the code it would be great if you had maybe a special function for downloading simple text files containing a small amount of information like under a kilobyte. I like to use this to pass data back and forth over the Internet using my software and it would really help to have a function like this...
