ctrl+b when emacs-mcx.inMarkMode doesn't work?

For the sake of Emacs compatibility, I wonder whether it's my misconfiguration or this extension is incomplete for this case:

1. Ctrl + space => setMarkCommand (works)
2. Ctrl + f => Select text under cursor (works)
3. Ctrl + b => This doesn't select text under cursor. Should this work out of the box?

It's an intended behavior of this extension as the selected length is 0. Is it different from Emacs?
My reference is basically the default settings of Emacs for MacOS. Let me know if I should refer to different distributions or settings.
