What are you seeing

In the README, there is a section on upgrading. It has a section on upgradig from 0.x to 1.0.0 and from 1.x to 2.0.0. The current version is 5.0.0 - but there are no sections for 3.0.0, 4.0.0, or 5.0.0

What behaviour did you expect instead

Documenttion and caveats for each major version ( 1 - 5) OR just documentation for recent ones ( 3, 4, and 5 or 4 and 5)
